The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator to join a successful and growing civil engineering contractor. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a skilled pre-construction team, where you will play a vital role in producing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a wide variety of projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects including roads, bridges, drainage systems, earthworks, and reinforced concrete structures.
Analysing drawings, specifications, and project documentation to prepare comprehensive tender submissions.
Collaborating with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to source and validate cost data.
Identifying risks and opportunities within tender documents and recommending cost-effective solutions.
Attending site visits, client meetings, and post-tender negotiations when required.
Supporting the preparation of tender programmes and bid strategies.
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience as an Estimator within the civil engineering or wider construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
High attention to detail with strong organisational abilities.
Ability to work independently and to tight deadlines.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar (desirable).
