Our client, a leader in innovative chemical manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Chemist to join their advanced research and development team in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This crucial role involves optimizing existing chemical processes and developing new ones to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality. You will be responsible for the scale-up of laboratory processes to pilot and full production scales, ensuring safety and economic viability. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline, with a minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in process development and optimization, preferably within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry. Proven expertise in reaction engineering, process simulation, analytical techniques (e.g., GC, HPLC, MS), and process safety management is essential. Experience with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing methodologies is highly advantageous. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed process analysis, identifying areas for improvement, designing and executing experiments, troubleshooting production issues, and developing robust operating procedures. You will also collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and production teams, ensuring seamless technology transfer and effective implementation of process changes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are paramount. We are looking for a detail-oriented, innovative, and safety-conscious individual with excellent communication and teamwork abilities. This is an on-site role requiring significant laboratory and plant-based work. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work on a range of projects in the energy and renewable power sector, with a focus on providing Process Safety inputs as well as engineering delivery and management of tasks and deliverables. Provide engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles;
Provide expertise on process hazard analysis, including chairing HAZID and sometimes HAZOP studies associated with the teamu2019s projects and advising clients on needs for safety studies and contributing to and reviewing safety studies completed by contractors for compliance with requirements on behalf of our clients;
Work with Process Safety professionals within the wider AECOM business to develop collaboration opportunities and enhance quality of service in this area for our clients;
Take responsibility for the delivery of technical and other deliverables as part of projects on behalf of project managers within our own team and the wider AECOM organisation;
