**Job Title: Shift Leader**
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are recruiting a Shift Leader to join the team located in Heathrow.
**Role Summary & Responsibilities:**
-Management of holiday, sickness cover requirements and HR issues including completion of appraisals of shift staff
-Work with management to ensure training plans are in place and implemented
-Maintain the image, appearance and professional standing of CBRE GWS technical team at all times
-Supervision of technical M&E shift team and senior technical representative out of hours.
-Act as point of contact for technical service delivery
-Plan and manage workload on shift; scheduling works based on priorities to ensure completion of PPM's / CM's and reactive work orders within defined SLA's; highlight any concerns to TSM
-Ensure high degree of communication at shift handover via verbal handover period, shift log book, email and status board
-Liaison with other FM Workplace Solutions service providers to provide an integrated service. Provide timely customer feedback verbally face to face, email or calling card
-Act as Authorised Person for control of work - CBRE GWS and specialist contractors to agreed.
-Permit to Work System (all project work to be controlled via CBRE GWS)
-Carry out electrical switching operations on systems within Change Control Process and authorization limits to agreed switching programmes
-Lead in shift training by scenarios and lessons learnt; knowledge from O&M's I site drawings. Operate critical plant where authorised
-Ensure compliance to client and CBRE GWS health and safety processes and procedures at all times for all work carried out by CBRE GWS staff and sub-contractors
-Carry out toolbox talks, workplace assessments and audits at required frequencies supporting TSM as required
-Adherence to CBRE GWS business processes and procedures with correct financial approvals.
-Ensure appropriate budgetary control is exercised on all CBRE spend (parts, tools, instruments, training, PPE)
-Provide a weekly performance report on workload status using maintenance management system (Real Suite)
-Submit monthly status to TSM as contribution to the client monthly report to include any problem areas I HSE issues I SLA highlights

A day in the life
Our RME Technicians are based on-site, so they can respond quickly to any machinery issues. You'll carry out a range of planned preventative maintenance to our sites' equipment to make sure it's working safely. As an RME Technician, you'll also respond promptly to breakdowns, investigating, finding, and implementing solutions as quickly as possible. You'll also make suggestions for long-term improvements.
Working alongside senior colleagues, you'll undertake day-to-day maintenance tasks and will liaise with contractors if you need external expertise. You'll work on a range of shifts to make sure our sites are supported around the clock - allowing Amazon to deliver at the speed we're known for.
About the team
Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering or RME team keep our equipment performing at its best. We're a technically minded team, made up of excellent team players and guided by experienced leaders. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment across our global network of fulfilment centers. Some of our people are leaders, who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology - some of which only exists at Amazon.
From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side. This includes keeping buildings legally compliant, so everyone is safe, and our sites are operating at maximum efficiency. There are lots of opportunities for progression, both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon.
Everything we do focuses on reducing downtime in Amazon's crucial operations sites, so customers get their orders on time. We often work during early or late hours to carry out maintenance with minimal disruption, including night shifts. If we spot a better way to do something, we have the skills and the opportunity to develop and introduce completely new processes like Amazon Robotics and our Complex Item Sorter.
Basic Qualifications
- Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject
- Relevant experience as a qualified engineer
- Relevant experience working in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance
- Advanced proficiency in the local language verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in condition-based monitoring

- Engineering & Facility Operations and Maintenance - Operational experience and familiarity with electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS's), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS's), Diesel Generators, Chillers, Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC), Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), and Transformers
- Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)
- Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required
- Ability to work shifts (morning, late and night)
- On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls

About the role

To lead, mentor, and manage CAD Technicians and Junior Technicians in delivering high-quality, sustainable digital and CAD solutions across civil engineering projects. The role ensures technical excellence, compliance with quality standards, and supports the development of the UK practice.
