**Position summary:**
Based at our Horsham site this role supports production including serialization & commercial equipment and other areas of the business, such as the Warehouse, with equipment breakdowns and overtime. Working to minimize down time, in accordance with
+ Good manufacturing practice. (GMP) and Good engineering practice. (GEP).
+ Following Standard Operating Procedures. (SOP's).
+ Responsible for own actions and deliverables. Manage own time.
Follow planned maintenance schedules in accordance with equipment and regulatory requirements within the PPM schedule. Identifies preventative maintenance needs and addresses these.
Actively partake in training and other work to ensure continuing technical and personal development to meet the business needs.
Flexibility to work shift, core, nights and weekend when required depending on production demands.
**Responsibilities:**
+ To continuously improve all packaging, serialization, commercial equipment, and packaging operations. Evaluate and analyze current process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvements. Analyze and find opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance and rectify. Work with various teams to reduce process and business variations. Creates/amends procedures to meet new/changed requirements.

+ Discusses problems with other team members, team leader and agrees course of action. Ensuring detailed handovers occur, participate at meetings and give constructive input.
+ Actively partake in training and other work to ensure continuing technical and personal development to meet the business needs. Train and guide resources as needed.
+ Responsible for managing and completing assigned work. Working mainly on double day shift, with the flexibility to cover core, nights and weekend working when required depending on production demands.
+ Delivery of projects, as a project manager or project engineer. New equipment installation, development & improvement, and assistance in associated validation work.
+ Liaise with internal customers, machine suppliers to resolve machine problems, request / initiate supplier visits if required.
+ Ensure health & safety procedures are followed i.e. near miss accidents, risk assessments.
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:**
+ NVQ level 3, HND or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 17th edition or 18th edition wiring regulations.
+ Proven ability to analyse complex technical issues to the fundamental level and propose practical solutions. As well as experience in driving continuous improvement and working within process industries.
+ Detailed knowledge & working application of Engineering Standards.
+ Knowledge and experience of utilising and implementing CI tools such as 5S, Kaizen, etc!
+ Please be aware some travelling maybe required.

We are recruiting an Engineering Manager to lead technical operations across two high Profile sites — 4 days per week in South London and 1 day in Southwest / West London and Ideal candidates should be in commutable distant to both sites.
This role is suited ONLY to candidates coming from critical environments, such as data centres, banking, trading floors, or high-security mission critical 24/7 infrastructure. You will be responsible for both the strategic oversight and hands-on supervision of HV/LV systems, UPS, BMS, and business-critical plant, overseeing some projects via specialist sub-contractors etc
 
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering teams, although this will be with other management on the contract, Contract manager, Technical Manager, Engineering Supervisor also including both day staff and shift engineers.
- Oversee PPM, reactive works, and fault escalation across all critical electrical and mechanical services.
- Take full operational control of HV/LV infrastructure, UPS and BMS systems.
- Coordinate contractors and subcontractors, ensuring safety, compliance, and performance standards are maintained.
- Produce engineering reports, load assessments, site audits, and ensure accurate logbooks/documentation.
- Maintain O&M manuals, risk assessments, CEWA permits, and contingency procedures.

This specific hire is for their site in South London / North Surrey and will take full accountability for a small team and be responsible for maintenance, servicing and take a strong involvement in engineering projects.
 
To take on this role you do not needto be an engineering veteran – it’s a two person team and therefore the key is that you can get stuck in and are willing to take on a number of the duties directly on a day to day basis.
 
Full training will be provided in the pharmaceutical equipment and processes.
 
The standard hours are 7am to 3pm Mon-Fri – but you need to be flexible as there will be call outs (including nights and weekends). Overtime/TOIL is available.

- Good working knowledge of motors (star/delta, DOL, VSD), plumbing and heating systems
- Knowledge of vented/unvented systems and commercial catering gas safety
