Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Engineering Buyer with extensive experience in NPI buying and supporting engineering teams in product design and development. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full procurement process for specialist components, materials, and services used in robotic design, development and manufacturing.
- Survey the market and identify suitable suppliers from sourcing sample parts to developing to commercial supply.
- Actively participate in engineering design discussions, advising on commercially viable component choices, suggesting suitable alternatives, and helping standardise parts to optimise cost, availability, and manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, both in the UK and internationally.
- Support new product development (NPD/NPI) by sourcing new and innovative parts and ensuring procurement aligns with engineering requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and planning teams to ensure materials are available to meet development projects and production deadlines.
