The Role
As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be the go-to expert for all things electrical on site — but your mechanical know-how will also come into play. Key Responsibilities
- Lead on Electrical maintenance , fault-finding, and diagnostics across production equipment.
- Carry out both reactive and preventative maintenance to minimise production downtime.
- Support electrical repairs and work collaboratively with multi-skilled engineers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects around equipment reliability , safety, and performance.
- Ensure all electrical systems and installations comply with regulatory and safety standards .
- Work closely with production teams to support fast turnaround on line changeovers and setups.
- Keep accurate maintenance logs, assist with spare parts inventory, and support audit readiness.
- Contribute to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation.
About You
- Time-served or formally qualified in Mechanical; engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Strong hands-on experience with production machinery – electrical bias, but mechanically capable.
- Excellent fault-finding skills on PLCs, drives, motors, panels, and industrial control systems.
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure – a true team player.
- FMCG or food industry experience is a strong advantage, but not essential.

+ A Consultancy or Development background with a balance of private and public sector work.
+ You will contribute to the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications or construction drawing issue.
+ You will have proven experience and an interest in helping the junior members of the team in producing designs.
