The successful Health, Safety and Environment Director will:

• Demonstrate a proven ability to lead and develop successful HSE teams, instilling behavioural and cultural change across a wide stakeholder group.
• Possess exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to act as a strategic partner and coach to the business.
• Hold a Level 6 HSE qualification, with CMIOSH (or a clear pathway to achieving it).

In return, the successful individual will receive an attractive compensation package including:

• Base salary £130,000 - £150,000 depending on experience

The ideal candidate will excel at interacting with multinational clients in a technical, client relationship management and product focused capacity. You will provide support to a number of key clients and will work on several different projects at a time.

Key responsibilities of the Head of Environmental Compliance will include:

• Managing the company's portfolio of environmental permits, exemptions, consents, and licences.
• Overseeing environmental management plans and statutory submissions to regulators, including the Environment Agency, SEPA and local authorities.
• Acting as the primary liaison with regulators, maintaining proactive relationships and ensuring robust compliance across operations.
• Driving continuous improvement in environmental governance and supporting regional SHEQ activities.

The successful Head of Environmental Compliance candidate will have:

• Significant experience within the waste sector, with strong knowledge of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance.
