Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) – Perth, Scotland
Base: Perth | Travel: Central Belt
Salary: £35,000–£5,000 + paid mileage
CPD: 20 days per year

Join a leading environmental consultancy working at the forefront of renewable energy, utilities, and residential development. We’re looking for a skilled Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to support a growing portfolio of projects across Scotland’s Central Belt.
This is a field-based role, ideally suited to someone based in or near Perth , with regular travel to wind, solar, utility, and housing sites. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring ecological compliance on active construction sites, advising contractors and clients, and safeguarding habitats and protected species.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver on-site ecological supervision and monitoring for construction projects
- Provide clear, practical ecological advice to site teams and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with legislation, planning conditions, and mitigation measures
- Record and report ecological observations, incidents, and recommendations
- Liaise confidently with clients, contractors, regulators, and internal teams
About You:
- Several years of experience in a similar ECoW or ecological monitoring role
- Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and ecological mitigation practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working independently in dynamic site environments
- Full, clean UK driving licence is essential

We are currently partnering with a fast-growing, international environmental consultancy to find an experienced Environmental Compliance Manager to join their specialist team.
This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse, global client base and play a central role in delivering high-impact compliance and advisory services across a range of regulatory frameworks. The role is fully home-based, offering flexibility alongside the chance to work with leading names in the producer responsibility landscape.
The Role:
As an Environmental Compliance Manager, you'll take ownership of a portfolio of international clients, guiding them through complex EPR requirements including WEEE, batteries, and packaging regulations. You'll lead the delivery of compliance projects, manage key accounts, and stay on top of changing regulations across the EU and globally.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering external compliance and consultancy services to international producers
- Assessing Extended Producer Obligations and preparing quotations for service delivery
- Project managing new services and overseeing data reporting, registration, and invoicing workflows
- Managing client relationships and ensuring high-quality, timely support
- Tracking regulatory changes and contributing to service development and internal tools
About You:
We're looking for someone with experience in environmental compliance or a related regulatory role, ideally with a focus on EU EPR. You'll bring excellent communication and project management skills, along with a confident, client-focused approach.
Key requirements include:
- Solid working knowledge of WEEE, batteries, and packaging regulations (EMEA experience essential)
- Experience managing international clients and compliance reporting
- Strong Excel skills and high computer literacy
- Degree educated in a relevant field (e.g. Environmental Science, Law, or similar)
- Additional languages are a plus, particularly within the EU
- Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently in a remote setting
