**Profile**
**Skills knowledge and experience required**
+ At least 8 years of experience.
+ IEMA ( Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment) Full membership of IEMA + Chartered environmentalist.
+ Membership of a recognized professional body e.g IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM, SocEnv.
+ Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
+ A degree in business management, Sustainability, environmental engineering or other academic field from an accredited college or university discipline.
+ Experience in GRID industry or in power generation industry.
+ Be fully conversant in Scottish and UK consenting and environmental legislation.
+ Good computer skill using MS office (word, excel, power point).
+ International EHS regulatory knowledge /qualification as required.
+ Excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; integrative team working style, able to work into a multi-cultural environment.

Our client, a highly respected non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability, is seeking an passionate and experienced Community Outreach Coordinator for a fully remote position. This role is crucial in fostering engagement and driving action within communities across the UK to support our client's vital mission. You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative outreach strategies, building strong relationships with community groups, local authorities, and stakeholders, and mobilising volunteers and supporters. The ideal candidate will have a deep commitment to environmental causes, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences. You will be adept at organising events, workshops, and campaigns, both online and offline, to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices. Key responsibilities include creating engaging outreach materials, managing social media presence for outreach initiatives, recruiting and coordinating volunteers, and tracking the impact of outreach activities. This role requires a proactive, self-motivated individual who can work independently and effectively manage their time in a remote setting. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a remote team are essential. Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive community outreach strategies to promote environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, local organisations, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Organise and facilitate engaging workshops, events, and public awareness campaigns.
  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to support outreach activities.
  • Create compelling content for outreach materials, social media, and newsletters.
  • Monitor and report on the impact and effectiveness of outreach programs.
  • Represent the organisation at community events and public forums.
  • Identify and cultivate new partnership opportunities.
  • Advocate for environmental policies and sustainable practices within communities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Communications, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in community outreach, engagement, or project management.
  • Demonstrated passion for environmental sustainability and conservation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in event planning and volunteer management.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within the non-profit sector is a plus.
