A dynamic centre for conservation and welfare, the park currently has around 475 animals across more than 60 different species. We're on the lookout for a passionate and driven Equine Groom to join our dynamic team In this role, you'll undertake a variety of duties to ensure the smooth running of a small dressage livery yard. Successful candidate must have previous experience working in a professional capacity on a livery yard.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- General yard duties; including but not limited to mucking out, provision of water and food and general tidying duties.
- Working alongside external professionals such as the vet and farrier as required
- Supporting livery clients
- Cleaning of yard equipment and tack.
- Checking fencing and maintaining field shelters.
- Daily exercising of the horses to include lunging and hacking.
- Assisting at shows (including early starts)
- Possibility to work on other departments.
Candidate:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible approach to work.
- At least 1 year's previous experience of working with equines.
- Good communication skills and works well as part of a team.
- Sound knowledge of equine care and health needs.
- Demonstrable handling skills with a good health and safety awareness.
- A good level of fitness due to the physically demanding nature of the role.

Situated on the edge of the North Wessex Downs AONB, it also provides beautiful local countryside for long walks with our canine friends. Applicant requirements
For the Apprenticeship, the applicant will be required to hold a grade 4-9 or A*-C in 5 GCSEs to include maths, English and Science as well as have a UK driving license. You will receive full training for the role to study for and achieve a Level 3 Qualification in Equine Veterinary Nursing. Current training is a blend of on-line/on the job training and face-to-face teaching with our apprenticeship provider. A Clinical Coach will support students once the Apprenticeship commences.
Your shift pattern
This a full-time position which involves supporting our team of veterinary surgeons both in the hospital and out on the road 24/7/365 days a year to provide routine and emergency care to our patients. The role covers 39 hours per week, with shift work covering nights and weekends and bank holidays.

An opportunity has arisen to join the Easton College Equine Centre as the Assistant Equine Centre Manager. This is an exciting time to join the Animal and Equine department as we continue to develop the resources, curriculum and commercial offer.
This role will be responsible for the daily operational management of the Equine Centre, maintaining high standards of equine welfare by implementing relevant organisational plans and procedures. Planning for the delivery of duties and riding sessions and ensuring all technicians are delivering practical sessions to the highest standard. In addition, duties will include supporting with horse husbandry, record keeping, and health monitoring; ensuring the horses are cared for to the highest welfare and industry standards.
You will also assist with Equine commercial activity, supporting clients to have successful events, as well as developing our offer of inhouse events; ensuring our learners are central to these activities.
The successful candidate will need to be a genuine team worker and communicate effectively, working in a flexible and busy environment. The Job
The Animal Care Assistant is responsible for helping to provide an efficient and accessible animal Therapy service to support the smooth running and effective management of the establishment. The role is all about supporting and empowering all of our young people to achieve their personal best through working alongside our horses, within the animal environment. Providing appropriate physical and emotional support to ensure effective learning takes place, whilst maintaining a clean and safe environment are key competencies we are looking for. To support our young people both in school and in their homes as required to ensure a consistent approach.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To contribute to making the animal care team effective. This involves supporting other members of the team and helping to build positive relationships. You must be willing to give and receive constructive feedback aimed at developing the quality of relationships and team performance.
- To work within the health and safety guidelines of the school.
- To support the Equine lead and Groom in order to maintain the health and wellbeing of the animals. This includes taking responsibility for the running of the yard when the equine lead is absent. As well as delivering student sessions.
- Liaise with the Equine Lead and Groom to ensure continuity of care for the animals during times of staff holiday or illness.
- General duties i.e. mucking out, feeding, grooming and animal first aid. To include caring for our small animals – guinea pigs and rabbits.
- Care and monitoring of tack and equipment including ensuring it is safe and fit to use as well as keeping it clean and tidy.
- General care of the animals with specific emphasis on helping our young people groom and complete stable management activities during the year.
- Support in the delivery of sessions by taking responsibility for working with groups or individuals in a range of situations with the guidance of the Equine lead.
- Assist with the preparation of resources for sessions. Help to plan individual programs for our young people, this includes group sessions, 1:1 sessions and staff sessions.
- Maintain students records as required, ensuring that confidentiality is maintained. Always ensuring that records are written to a legible, accurate, high standard at the end of the session.

**Overview of the role**
Moderators are responsible for moderating centres' assessment of candidates' work in accordance with the agreed assessment criteria and the awarding organisation's procedures.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Attend standardisation meetings. Moderators will not be permitted to carry out moderation if they fail to attend the appropriate standardisation meeting/s. Moderators must not moderate any candidate work before the standardisation meetings.
