We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands , who are recruiting for a locum Planning Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis for an initial 3-months .
This is a part-time position with capacity for 20 - 25 hours p/week , and they are offering an hourly rate of circa £50 - £0 p/hour UMB . This is a predominantly remote position, but the successful candidate will be required to attend committees on a monthly basis. They are looking for someone to get started as soon as possible.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Handling a mixed caseload of Planning, Highways and Enforcement matters
- Advising on planning matters to do with major projects in the region
- Providing advice to the client group on varied Planning matters, including advising on appeal enquiries and other associated matters as required
- Attending and representing the Council at Committee meetings on an ad-hoc basis
- Drafting and advising s.106 agreements, CIL, certificates of lawful use and advising on other planning related matters
- Advising on, drafting and completing highways agreements, including deeds of dedication and footpaths orders
Experience required:
- Experience required in Local Authority
- Experience handling planning committees
- Significant planning & highways law experience
Working hours:
- 20 - 25 hours p/week
