The successful candidate will lead and manage UK-based testing and evaluation initiatives for advanced submarine battery systems.
The Senior / Principal Battery Test Engineer will:
- Apply deep understanding of battery system design, electrochemistry, and integrated safety features to inform test objectives and interpret results. li>Develop, review, and approve detailed test documentation including Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports for battery modules, packs, and system-level evaluations.
- Manage hazard and risk assessments associated with lithium-ion battery handling, testing, and fault simulation.
- Coordinate thermal runaway, short circuit, and mechanical abuse tests in compliance with relevant Defence and maritime standards.
- Support the generation of business cases, technical input for RFQs, and proposals for new battery testing initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering peers, partners, and test facility personnel to align testing scope with project requirements and safety considerations.
The Senior / Principal Battery Test Engineer will have:
- < i>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or related discipline). < i>In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with battery technologies, particularly lithium-ion, for high-integrity systems.

We are currently seeking an experienced Electromechanical Design Engineer to join the Electrification + Energy Solutions Battery Development Team focused on concepting and designing a range of battery pack and EV electrical systems for a variety of applications.
The successful candidate will serve as an experienced contributor on projects and assignments that are complex in nature, working with individuals and teams across multiple business units globally.
Responsibilities of the Battery Electromechanical Design Engineer include
- Gather and get agreement on requirements for Electrical harness, BDU, electrical component and hardware design
- Contribute to risks assessments (DFMEAs), and update a risk reduction glidepath (to production)
- 3D CAD design of Electrical System components, assemblies, LV harness and HV Cables
- BOM Creation for EV electrical components, cabling and wiring

- Design using PTC Creo including the packages Cabling, Schematics, Simulate, Engineering Drawing/Detailing
- Concept development of designs through structured collaborative down-selection to production release
- Experience with PLM tools
- Experience of Product development through a structured NPI process
- Experience on designing within the requirements of compliance standards
- A passion to grow your design skills within a friendly, interactive and innovative global engineering team

Duties:
- The Battery Test Automation Engineer role will focus on the delivery of automation tools in support of the development and design verification (DV) of the Clients' HV Traction Battery Systems.
- You will operate across our internal facilities and external test houses managing automation tools, leading the development of these tools and guiding our colleagues and partners on their use, ensuring adherence to the Clients' safety policies and procedures and planning for future test capabilities, requirements and applications.

As a Senior Performance Engineer, youll be in charge of maximizing the value per MWh of the company’s diverse battery storage projects. As a member of the Technical Operations Department, reporting to the Vice President of Asset Management, youll have the chance to develop and direct fleet-wide processes, strategy, and direction for all performance engineering and digital activities connected to the companys operating assets.
Key responsibilities for this role will include (but are not limited to):
- Ensure effective management of performance for battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the portfolio.
