As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in advising the business on a wide range of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on corporate law, regulatory compliance, and best practice governance. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, ensuring all company policies and procedures adhere to current legislation and industry standards. Your expertise will be vital in managing corporate record-keeping, supporting board meetings, and implementing robust governance frameworks across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal advice on corporate governance, company law, and related regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including service agreements, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
- Manage the company's statutory obligations, including annual returns, board minutes, and shareholder resolutions.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Advise on risk management strategies and assist in the resolution of legal disputes.
- Conduct legal research and stay abreast of changes in legislation that may impact the business.
- Support the General Counsel and other senior stakeholders on strategic legal projects.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with significant post-qualification experience.
- Proven expertise in corporate law, company secretarial duties, and corporate governance principles.
- Experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- In-depth knowledge of UK company law and relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload in a remote setting.
- Membership in relevant professional bodies is advantageous.

You will receive full support, coaching, and mentoring to help you succeed and grow in the role.

- Comfortable using IT systems and open to learning CRM tools.

- A degree or equivalent qualification, or relevant industry experience.
