Our client, a rapidly expanding technology solutions provider, is searching for an experienced and visionary Head of Technical Support and Field Engineering to lead their global support operations. This is a critical, fully remote role that will shape the future of customer service and on-site technical assistance.

In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive technical support strategies and field engineering programs. You will lead a distributed team of highly skilled support engineers and field technicians, ensuring exceptional service delivery, rapid issue resolution, and high customer satisfaction. Your focus will be on building scalable processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and leveraging technology to enhance support capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for technical support and field engineering functions.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a global, remote team of technical support specialists and field engineers.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for support resolution times, customer satisfaction, and field service effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices in ITIL service management, incident management, and problem management.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of field engineering resources, ensuring timely and efficient on-site support.
  • Drive innovation in support channels, including AI-powered chatbots, self-service portals, and proactive monitoring.
  • Collaborate with product development, sales, and customer success teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Manage the support budget, resources, and vendor relationships.
  • Develop training programs to upskill support and field engineering teams.
  • Analyse support trends and customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and service level agreements (SLAs).

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in technical support and field operations management, with a proven ability to lead remote, geographically dispersed teams. A strong technical background in IT infrastructure, network systems, or hardware support is essential. Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills are required. Familiarity with CRM and ticketing systems, as well as remote management tools, is a must. This position is fully remote, but the operational oversight frequently involves coordination for services in the Oxford, Oxfordshire, UK area.

Provide leadership and coordination between internal departments and MHE vendors for multiple installation sites.


Develop and manage budget and contract documents including RFPs, change order controls, purchase orders, and invoicing


Coordinate with local site management to ensure proper operator training, procedural compliance, maintenance practices are followed for new and existing MHE equipment


Creating, submitting and tracking the relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within budget.


Work very closely with the UK Real Estate, IT and Process teams together with the software and Operations Integration teams to ensure on time project delivery.


Understand the Operational process in detail, including the all the relevant WMS tools used on a daily basis.






Basic Qualifications

- B.S. Degree in Engineering or related discipline.

- Recognized experience on equipment design and layout of mechanical handling/conveyance/packaging systems.

- Proven technical leadership experience in development and implementation of large scale, complex projects.

- In-depth knowledge of standard industry practices including Lean Manufacturing

- Excellent working knowledge using MS Excel, AutoCAD, MS Project, and related software



Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to travel to throughout the UK dependent on Project location

- Ability to design, specify and layout MHE from manual to automated solutions

- Ability to effectively influence, negotiate, and communicate with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.

- Ability to function well in a fast-paced work environment.

- Ability to provide leadership and technical guidance to field personnel u2013 Experience in Lean Manufacturing, six sigma and/or Toyota Manufacturing System.

As a key member of the Field Service Team you will contribute to delivering company growth goals and report into the Head of Customer Experience. You will be responsible for specific metrics within the department and for making strategic decisions to improve KPI’s. You will be expected to undertake regular nation travel to build relationships with key customers and engineers whilst also providing them with support.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Managing field service personnel, providing effective support and assistance
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s and bi-annual appraisals with direct reports

You will be expected to undertake regular nation travel to build relationships with key customers and engineers whilst also providing them with support.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Managing field service personnel, providing effective support and assistance
  • Conduct regular 1-2-1s and bi-annual appraisals with direct reports
  • Monitor team performance, develop training plans and provide coaching as necessary.
  • Acting as a liaison and escalation point, both internally and externally for installation, commissioning and service.
  • Continually evaluate and improve field service processes

Requirements of the Field Service Engineering Manager

  • Proven experience in a Field Service Manager or similar managerial role
  • Strong people manager and the ability to manage a remote team
  • Experience of health and safety requirements
  • Background in Electronics/Electrical

Desirable requirements of the Field Service Engineering Manager

  • NEBOSH/IOSH General H&S Certificate
  • Experience working with complex electromechanical devices and equipment
  • Experience working in a regulated environment

Are you a hands-on engineer looking for a varied and rewarding role ? Our client, a leading provider of electro-mechanical services, is seeking a Site Service Engineer to join their team in Cheddar. This is an exciting opportunity to work on-site with clients across multiple industries, carrying out repairs, maintenance, and servicing of rotating equipment .

The role is commutable from Cheddar, Draycott, Axbridge, Wedmore, Badgworth, and Winscombe.

The Role:

As a Site Service Engineer, you will be a key part of the team, providing technical expertise and ensuring equipment runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Performing on-site repairs, maintenance, and servicing of motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out both mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Working closely with customers to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency.
  • Assisting with installations, removals, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all work adheres to health and safety standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • Proven experience in mechanical or electrical engineering, ideally in a field-based role.
  • Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, including motors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair faults efficiently on-site.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude with excellent customer service skills.

Job Requirements for the Site Services Engineer:

The ideal Site Services Engineer will have a strong background in Food/FMCG engineering and be accustomed to fast paced environments.

  • Provide technical support across the mixing plant and site service departments.
  • Supporting with maintaining all site utilities including building systems, access control and CCTV, boilers, plumbing, compressors, pumps, valves, filters, ancillary plant and infrastructure (for example HVAC, compressed air, water, gas & electrical systems)

  • Working knowledge of building maintenance systems/CMMS.
  • Working experience within highly automated environments.
