Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the UK. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security solutions to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, deploy, and manage firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security devices.
  • Monitor network traffic for security breaches and anomalies, responding to incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into network infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain security logging and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and support on network security matters to internal teams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Develop and deliver security awareness training to employees.
  • Participate in the development and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Document network security architecture, configurations, and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
  • Hands-on experience with various security technologies such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Check Point, Juniper SRX.
  • Proficiency in VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL VPN).
  • Experience with IDS/IPS, WAF, NAC, and SIEM solutions.
  • Understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, CCNP Security, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
