This is an exceptional Lead / Principal Scientist opportunity with a cutting-edge green energy company.
The Principal / Lead Scientist opportunity is mainly onsite in the Aylesbury area – due to the nature of the role primarily being on hands on laboratory experiments. The company are flexible, so are fine with working from home when practical.
As Principal / Lead Scientist you will work closely with the Chief Scientist on a range of new and existing cutting edge research experiments focussed on Aluminium Hydroxide from clean Hydrogen production. Existing innovative projects and experiments are already underway with partnerships with leading names in the industry as well as advanced technology in this field. As Principal / Lead Scientist previous experience with Aluminium Hydroxide would be preferred even better if it relates to Green Hydrogen/Filtration. A PhD or Master is required, preferably in Chemistry, Engineering or Environmental Science as Principal / Lead Scientist. Previous commercial experience working within the Energy or Chemical sector is preferred as Principal / Lead Scientist with Chemical Engineering or Material Science being a bonus. Strong real world and theoretical chemistry principles are essential as Principal / Lead Scientist as are modern laboratory techniques an equipment (xray, spectroscopy, mechanical Chemical, electrical properties etc) As Lead / Principal Scientist there may be occasional travel to other UK sites possibly a rare overseas conference or 2 a year. PM Group is looking for process engineering support on a Chemical Facility based in Cheshire.
Responsibilities
- Working on the project’s process elements, particularly focusing on Chemical bulk processing equipment. < i>Leading process engineering of the project from Concept Design to Commissioning stages.
- Developing design specifications and P&IDs.
- Writing and reviewing URS documents, SOP documents, and other design documentation relevant to the process elements of the projects.
- Working with and challenging the principle contractor in the project design and equipment selection.
- Acting as a client representative in meetings and discussions with third party vendors.
- Working alongside third party contractors and offering input into process design and installation.
- Ensuring that Quality, Health and Safety processes are adhered to in all aspects of role.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have proven experience of working as a process engineer on multiple installation projects & plant support roles in the petrochemical industry.
- Knowledge of standard industry practices, procedures and safety measures is essential, including a deep understanding of process safety practices.
- The successful candidates will have strong leadership and communication skills, including the ability to challenge and work with other technical engineers and project stakeholders.
- Candidates will possess Degree in Chemical Engineering.
