• Perform comprehensive diagnostic assessments using state-of-the-art equipment to identify mechanical and electrical issues.
• Conduct complex repairs and maintenance, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system servicing, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Specialize in advanced diagnostics for complex systems such as ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), hybrid powertrains, and electric vehicle components.
• Interpret technical service bulletins and repair manuals to ensure adherence to manufacturer specifications.
• Provide clear and concise explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance to service advisors and, when appropriate, to customers.
• Mentor and guide junior technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill development.

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Automotive Technician, with a strong focus on diagnostics.
• Expertise in using diagnostic software and hardware for a variety of vehicle manufacturers.
• Proficiency in repairing and maintaining a diverse range of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking, and electrical systems.
• Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle technology is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid UK driving license.
• Willingness to undertake further training and certifications.

• Perform advanced diagnostic procedures on a wide range of vehicle makes and models, utilizing sophisticated diagnostic equipment.
• Identify and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems faults.
• Conduct thorough inspections and recommend necessary repairs and maintenance services.
• Perform major engine, transmission, and suspension repairs.

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or extensive experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Automotive Technician or Master Technician, with a strong focus on diagnostics.
• Expertise in diagnosing and repairing modern vehicle electrical systems, engine management systems, and transmission issues.
• Proficiency with a variety of diagnostic tools, scan tools, and oscilloscopes.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams and service manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to fault finding.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A valid UK driving license.
• Willingness to undertake further training and certifications.

First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic International Defence business who are looking to recruit a Vehicle Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis due to growth based at their Middle Wallop depot.

As a Vehicle Maintainer you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You'll have a key role working within a highly effective team, where the highest standards will be expected. You'll will work hands on with a variety of military vehicles including Land Rovers, MAN SVs and aircraft refuellers, helping to keep essential Army operations running smoothly.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• General vehicle maintenance and servicing duties.
• Undertake driving tasks, appropriate to licences held.
• Work as member of the team and support other trades when necessary.
• Aircraft Refuel and Aircraft towing tractors - including Land Rovers, MAN SV.
• To ensure a quality service delivery by understanding both the customer needs and contractual requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Engineering experience (REME Class 2, NVQ Level 3 or Civilian) or Equivalent (City & Guilds).
• Experience with aircraft refuelling/Oshkosh and other military vehicles with knowledge and understanding of MoD working environment, practices and procedures including JAMES system would be beneficially to this role.
• CAT B licence
• Cat C+E Licence or willing to be trained
• ADR qualification or willing to be trained
