Our client, a visionary independent game development studio, is seeking a highly creative and experienced Lead Video Game Composer & Sound Designer to join their fully remote team. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the audio landscape of groundbreaking interactive experiences. You will lead the charge in composing original scores and designing immersive soundscapes that elevate gameplay and evoke powerful emotions in players. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating mastery in musical composition for games, intricate sound design, and a proven ability to inspire and guide a team of audio professionals.

- Compose original musical scores for various game genres, moods, and narrative moments, ensuring thematic consistency and emotional impact.
- Design and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient soundscapes, and user interface sounds that enhance player immersion and gameplay feedback.
- Lead and direct other composers and sound designers, providing clear feedback, technical guidance, and creative direction.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, narrative writers, and engineers to understand and realize the audio vision for each project.
- Manage the audio pipeline, including asset creation, integration, and quality assurance, ensuring timely delivery.
- Optimize audio assets for performance across multiple platforms while maintaining high fidelity.
- Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in game audio, music production, and sound design.
- Develop and maintain audio style guides and documentation for projects.
- Mix and master final audio assets to ensure optimal playback quality across different hardware.
- Contribute to the overall creative direction of the game by translating conceptual ideas into compelling audio experiences.
- A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional video game composition and sound design work across multiple titles and genres.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in video game audio development, with at least 2 years in a lead or senior capacity.
- Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Cubase, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, or Ableton Live.
- Expertise in audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) for interactive audio implementation.
- Thorough understanding of music theory, harmony, orchestration, and various compositional styles.
- Skilled in sound design techniques, including synthesis, sampling, Foley, and field recording.
- Familiarity with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their audio systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate creative ideas effectively.
- Proven ability to manage multiple audio tasks and projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
