Lead UI Designer – Automotive HMI Systems - Contract

Are you a creative UI Designer with a passion for sleek, intuitive digital experiences? Join our team to help shape the future of in-vehicle interfaces for a leading automotive brand.

We're looking for a visual designer who can bring brand principles to life across vehicle-based digital interfaces. Partnering closely with UX designers and developers, you'll craft high-fidelity, production-ready UI designs for next-generation HMI systems.

This is an initial contract position till end of March paying £50 an hour. This contract will be extended another 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop modern, responsive front-end applications from the ground up using React, TypeScript, and Next.js.

About the role

We’re looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to lead the next generation of digital experiences at Zego. You’ll join a high-impact B2C product team and take ownership of building and scaling intuitive, performant, and inclusive user interfaces.

This is more than just a senior engineering role, you’ll act as a technical lead within your team. You’ll shape architecture, coach engineers, and help us move from a legacy monolith to a micro-frontends ecosystem powered by React, Next.js, and a BFF pattern.

• Drive frontend strategy in an environment where quality, usability and reliability matter.
