About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Game Designer who thrives on storytelling, innovation, and crafting unforgettable gameplay experiences. In this senior-level role, you will work closely with the creative leadership team to shape game vision, build and guide design teams, and bring projects from concept to launch.
This position emphasizes creative problem-solving, people management, strategic communication, and a strong grasp of gameplay mechanics and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay current with player behavior trends and incorporate insights into design.
- Plan and oversee the work of game designers, ensuring alignment with the game’s vision.
- Define gameplay systems, rules, settings, and characters to build immersive experiences.
- Lead ideation and prototyping efforts, transforming ideas into playable concepts.
- Create and maintain detailed Game Design Documents (GDDs).
- Regularly review features to ensure quality, consistency, and fun.
- Playtest and iterate based on user feedback and analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to maintain creative and technical coherence.
- Mentor junior designers and promote knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Work with production to align on team capacity, scheduling, and prioritization.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in game design, including leadership roles.
- Multiple shipped titles, with strong expertise in mobile and free-to-play (F2P) games.
- Strong knowledge of game design theory, player engagement strategies, and balancing.
- Comfortable working with KPIs and player data to drive design improvements.
- Proficient in modern game engines like Unity or Unreal .
- Strong documentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts.
- Experience with spreadsheets or scripting tools for game system configuration.
- A creative and strategic thinker with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in game design or a related field is preferred.
- Passion for games and a commitment to creating high-quality player experiences.

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer to join our team, delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to support our learners in achieving their full potential. You'll play a key role in designing and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons that meet curriculum standards and reflect industry needs.
Are you ready for your next challenge in Further Education? Do you have a passion for education with plenty of enthusiasm to develop and inspire the next generation? We have an opportunity for a motivated individual to join a growing team, teaching on Level 2 and Level 3.
You will hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant Games Design/Games Art discipline, a degree in a related field is desirable, and a relevant teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards). Experience and knowledge of specific games design packages including Maya, Substance Painter and Unreal Engine is essential.
Recent or current vocational experience in Games Design and of teaching games development, digital graphics and animation would be advantageous.
You must be able to demonstrate a real enthusiasm for teaching with an ability to motivate and inspire learners to succeed.

• Relevant teaching qualification, or willingness to work towards within a specified timescale
• Minimum of Level 2 qualification, or equivalent competency, in Communication/Literacy and Maths or willingness to achieve in a specified timescale

- You’ll actively participate in test requirement gathering with developers to ensure QA effectively tests and supports all features of the project.
- You’ll be one step ahead in looking at ways to make improvements, take ownership for additional activities and create efficiencies in the way you work.
