Your work
As Sales Manager, you are responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in the United Kingdom. You will represent IQIP’s innovative mechanical solutions, working with clients in infrastructure and heavy construction. The role includes a strong focus on new business development and involves frequent travel across the region to build and maintain customer relationships. You will handle both long and short sales cycles and tailor technical solutions to meet customer needs.
Your responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for new business in the civil market
Build and maintain strong relationships with (potential) customers
Travel frequently to visit client sites and attend industry events
Identify customer needs and translate these into tailored IQIP solutions
Work closely with engineering and project teams to provide technical and commercial support
Lead negotiations and close contracts for complex mechanical equipment
Manage sales pipelines and report market developments internally
Your Profile
A bachelor’s degree in a technical or commercial discipline
Proven track record in sales of technical and/or mechanical products
Experience with both long-cycle and short-cycle sales processes
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the region
Affinity with civil construction, infrastructure, or heavy equipment markets
Self-starter with a commercial mindset and strong customer focus

Kane Selection Ltd is representing one of the UK's largest independent suppliers of plant and machinery to the construction, demolition, ports, timber, scrap and recycling sectors. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Sales Manager to lead new equipment sales across North East England.
About the Opportunity
This is an established territory with strong existing customer relationships and significant growth potential. The successful candidate will:
- Take full responsibility for new equipment and attachments sales across the North East England region
- Manage and develop relationships with construction, demolition, ports, scrap processors, timber operations and recycling facilities
- Promote a comprehensive range of heavy construction plant equipment from leading OEM partners
- Work closely with internal sales coordinators, workshop teams, and service engineers to ensure seamless customer delivery
- Represent the business with professionalism, technical knowledge, and a customer-first approach
Ideal Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Proven sales experience in heavy construction plant equipment - closely related equipment or route to market considered
- A background working for a dealer, manufacturer, or end-user in the construction, demolition, scrap, ports, timber or recycling industries
- Strong understanding of plant equipment applications and how machinery performs in real-world conditions
- The ability to manage an existing customer base while actively developing new business
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of business
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the territory
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve agreed sales targets for new equipment and attachments
- Visit customer sites regularly to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities
- Prepare quotations using internal systems and liaise with sales coordinators on order processing
- Inspect customer trade-in machines and coordinate with workshop teams on delivery schedules
- Attend industry exhibitions and customer events as required
- Use reporting tools (Power BI) to track stock, timelines, and delivery forecasts
- Understand customer operations and provide value-based equipment solutions
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years in a sales or account management role within heavy construction plant equipment
- Proven track record in developing and maintaining customer relationships
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to discuss equipment specifications confidently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Team player with a proactive, results-driven mindset
