Job Description
My client am open children's park with play areas, outdoor space and football pitches is seeking an experienced Grounds / Site Person maintain the day to day running of the site.
Working as part of a team they are seeking someone that would carry a good deal of manual work, often outdoors on their 7-acre site which would include a range of grounds and building maintenance tasks including, but not limited to: Gardening, park tidying, cleaning, painting and decorating, and basic repairs to fixtures and fittings on outdoor areas as well as the internal onsite buildings which include a nursery and several historic Grade II listed buildings that they deliver a range of community services for local children and families.
Other duties include.
- Basic hard and soft landscaping of play areas - (Sand and Water Play)
- Sweeping, leaf blowing/ collection, weeding, grass cutting.
- Act as a public presence across the park reporting and recording incidents as appropriate
- Help set up halls for hire and events
Working 37.5 hours per week- Monday - Friday 0800 - 16.30 and then 1-2 weekends per month (Pro rota) - with 2 consecutive days off during the week
Salary 26 - 27k + Benefits
The successful postholder will have to undergo and enhanced Police (DBS) check

Responsibilities
- Perform grass cutting, strimming, and hedge cutting as instructed or according to schedules. This includes litter picking and clearing paths. li>Conduct play area inspections and undertake minor repairs.

- Conduct arboriculture work from the ground, including felling small trees, crown raising, and clearing windblown or broken trees/limbs.
- Contribute to team performance, ensuring a high standard of service and support the Supervisor in delivering a customer-focused service.
- Act professionally, courteously, and helpfully as an ambassador for the Council.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, safe systems of work, and housekeeping through regular checking and cleaning of vehicles, equipment, and work sites.
- Work independently and perform day-to-day tasks unsupervised when necessary.
- Follow both written and verbal instructions from the Supervisor.
- Complete mandatory skills training, including health and safety training and industry updates.
- Undertake other comparable duties within the service, including snow clearance, grid and grating clearance, litter picking, and assisting with waste management.
- Education, Qualification and Training
- Basic literacy and numeracy to understand work instructions, safety details, and quantity specifications.
- Ability to interpret work instructions and complete tasks to the required standards.
- Previous grounds maintenance experience, including grass cutting, spraying, weeding, hoeing, and planting.
- Full manual driving licence (B licence).
