**Overview of the Department/Section**
GCIB incorporates the Corporate Banking Division and Investment Banking Division for EMEA. GCIB's Business Management (BM) function is responsible for supporting the management and business units within GCIB from, _inter alia_ , a strategic, operational and governance perspective ensuring the business maintains its 'license to operate'.
**Main Purpose of the Role**
Operate as a member of the GCIB BM Team responsible for the key monitoring and reporting tasks on behalf of GCIB to ensure that the business maintains its 'license to operate'. Working closely with Compliance (incl. FCOE), Risk, Audit and Business areas within GCIB EMEA to monitor, identify, report and reduce operational risk.
**Key Responsibilities**
Leadership & Strategic Development
+ Work as an integral member of the BM Team to ensure it operates efficiently and optimally, and taking responsibility for driving through the requisite change to achieve this
+ As a member of the GCIB Business Management Team support the wider business, where necessary, in performing key administrative tasks in an efficient and responsive manner
+ Take responsibility for identifying and reporting of risk, governance, regulatory related issues by escalating identified breaches to line manager/management
+ Support Team Head through preparation of materials, documents and policies in order for them to present/report to management, both in EMEA and HO, on operational and compliance related risks/issues. Provide solutions and direction and then work alongside the wider business to implement changes.
+ Assist with delivering projects/initiatives and audits for GCIB as required
+ Support GCIB on various working groups as required
Financial
+ Provide appropriate support to enable the front offices in their delivery of the financial targets set for EMEA GCIB
Operational Management
+ Update and maintain various reports to ensure that correct information is captured and monitored on an ongoing basis and reported as necessary
+ Develop an excellent understanding of all core systems and procedures within GCIB that are required to effectively monitor and test the robustness of internal controls.
+ Liaise with internal and external stakeholders across the three lines of defence to improve business practices, policies and guidelines as well as mitigation of risk
+ Assist in the development of new processes and procedures to deliver improvements and innovations across the business. Drive these policy changes through to implementation supporting relevant business areas.
+ Undertake any appropriate ad-hoc exercises/reporting as assigned
+ Update team procedures/documentation as required
+ Liaise with EPD and Global businesses in respect to business practices, policies and guidelines, look to implement and inform relevant GCIB businesses;
Global Collaboration
+ Act as a central contact point and liaise directly with Risk, Compliance, Internal & External Audit, Finance and other support functions in a wider GCIB role and/or for specific business lines
+ Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, gather relevant information and help to ensure effective interactive inter-departmental collaboration
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within MUFG both regionally and globally
Governance, Risk & Compliance
+ To work actively with GCIB teams and internal risk management departments to strengthen the identification and management of operational and compliance related risks impacting GCIB
+ Act as the first line of defence for GCIB in relation to first line controls - aiding GCIB to manage operational risks and ensure internal procedures are followed
+ Assist in the preparation of internal/external audits
+ Support Business Management team and wider GCIB teams as Secretariat for governance forum; Risk Advisory Forum (RAF), NPA, CTC and any other Forums as required.
+ Manage reporting and investigation of incidents whilst adhering to internal deadlines and escalating accordingly.
+ Support in reviewing and ensuring GCIB's RCSA and information on Open Pages is accurate and up to date.
+ Prepare MI for relevant meetings/committees/ conferences
+ Support the resolution of actions relevant to the development of GCIB's internal control framework (for example Audit, Compliance, Operational Risk etc.)
+ Provide support and advice to Front Office teams in relation to New Product Approvals (NPA) and manage requirements to ensure NPA's requirements are being met on an ongoing basis, including monitoring of restrictions and conditions.
**Work Experience**

**Job Description:**
**What You'll Do**
Responsible for managing business development in one or more countries, regions or industries. Responsible for building and maintaining a robust pipeline of new sales opportunities through effective networking and relationship development with appropriate industry and FinTech companies.
Responsible for cultivating and expanding multiple strategic and complex external relationships by serving as lead representative for Discover to identify and drive opportunities to expand business targets within portfolio. Serves a strategic role in increasing network transaction volume and revenue generation by selling new programs (e.g. Prepaid, Credit, Debit, etc.).
**How You'll Do It**
+ Drive new partnerships with payment service providers to grow merchant acceptance for Discover in the UK.
+ Manage the entire sales process, from pipeline development, lead generation to closing deals, and implementation. Manage pipeline.
+ Strategically identifies leads, develops proposals, responds to RFP's and negotiates agreements to maximize network growth. Identifies and creates business case to establish new development activities with internal (Risk, AML, etc.) and external industry partners.
+ Serve as the strategic liaison between Discover external accounts, by maintaining relationships with decision-makers across company divisions of each participant. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues or complaints within the day-to-day role to management.
+ Explores new partnership opportunities and manages a portfolio of clients to retain, grow and drive existing and new business by exploring acceptance and volume growth.
+ Manage and build relationships with existing strategic network participants. Maintain knowledge of partners, industry trends and competitive environment by performing market analysis and maintaining opportunity pipeline to recommend actions in improving Discover's position.
+ Drives internal processes including; development of communications, account management, approval requests and contract negotiations, compliance and risk management.
+ Performs market analyses and business development activities to increase network transaction volume and revenue generation.
+ Partner internally and externally to identify new or additional business opportunities within accounts; maintain and grow relationships to attain new business value and improve client experience.
+ Advise network participant of new product, marketing or operational initiatives and act as primarily liason into Discover to ensure improved market position for DFS.
+ Address client inquiries and problem solve to resolve opportunities or issues. Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements or incentives while ensuring compliance with new processes and business practices.

They are hiring for an exciting Management Accountant opportunity reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager. You will be a core member of the wider finance team and play a key part in supporting and strengthening the management accounting function. You will be responsible for the management accounting within the fastest growing division in the organisation. You will be working with various stakeholders across the business, supporting them with analysis of budgets vs actuals. Role and Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership for the management accounting from Trial Balance to P&L reporting for a group of products across a division
  • Checking, reconciliation and posting of forecast information for Costs and Revenues
  • Collecting, reconciling, checking, and updating trading information and reports
  • Reviewing and posting of accounting adjustments (accruals and prepayments)
  • Liaising with budget holders to arrive at forecasted figures monthly
  • Collating, production, and distribution of monthly reports
  • Responsibility for and preparation of Budget and other reporting templates
  • Preparation of annual Budgets and Business Plans for a group of products across a division
  • Create and maintain successful working relationships with key stakeholders, both internally within the team and across other business areas

Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or overseas Equivalent) – ideally 0-3 years PQE
  • Experience of dealing with large amounts of data (segmentation and reporting on data sets)
  • Good experience of seeking and implementing ways to improve on current practice
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in partnering with stakeholders
  • Confident in identifying, resolving, and escalating key points and issues
