The Role: Quality Management Consultant
SMMT Industry Forum is seeking a dynamic and experienced Aerospace Quality Management Consultant/Trainer with a broad skill set and a drive to accelerate their career while contributing to the growth of our business.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality training at our Birmingham-based training centre and providing expert consultancy services to clients across the aerospace sector.
We’re looking for a seasoned Quality Management professional with proven experience in developing and executing manufacturing product introduction processes. You should have expertise in one or more of the following areas: APQP, FMEA & other Core Tools, PPAP, AS9100, and ISO9001:2015, ideally at a Senior Engineer level within the aerospace industry.
If you have the expertise to work with clients in developing and implementing robust, structured new product introduction procedures — along with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and core tools — and the ability to train and coach others to ensure a high-performance, safe launch, we’d love to hear from you.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a team of dedicated professionals and experts that are truly some of the best in their field. This role will require flexibility in working hours, workload and location, as you will be required to travel to the client's location.
The successful candidate will be assigned to execute Training and Consultancy Services delivery on behalf of SMMT Industry Forum.
- Courses to be delivered can be defined as off the shelf training courses (Public and In house), or courses that require special design based on client's needs both Face-2-Face and Virtual
- Consultancy services - based on the clients' needs and subject to qualification match - 2nd party audits, coaching sessions gap analysis etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide training on client sites and in our training facilities, ensuring transfer of key skills in relation to APQP, FMEA & other Core Tools, PPAP, AS9100 and ISO9001:2015 in both a face to face and live virtual environment
- Provide coaching support or consultancy for the implementation of APQP, FMEA & other Core Tools, PPAP, AS9100 and ISO9001:2015.
- Innovate and create training solutions to develop and deliver programmes of work, courses and events that will fulfil client requirements.
- Design training programmes and materials for public and in-company courses and other events as required, ensuring that all materials are consistent with BA & IS business assurance philosophy, brand and methodology- based on certain arrangements
- Deliver courses and events as scheduled, adjusting and applying training techniques flexibly in response to the needs and learning styles of groups and individual delegates.
- Take every opportunity to promote additional or higher value services.
- Pass client feedback and insights to appropriate internal recipients.
- Support the continuous development of our training materials and service offerings
- Play an active part in customer relationship management and lead development

What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience delivering training and coaching in APQP, Core Tools, IATF, and Internal Auditing.

- Commercial awareness and the ability to link improvements to business outcomes.

Among your responsibilities, you will:
- Lead End-to-End Quality Assurance:

- Solid expertise in performance & chaos engineering (e.g., Neoload, JMeter, LoadRunner, Gremlin, Chaos Monkey or equivalent) and security testing tools (e.g., OcWASP ZAP, Burp Suite). Experience integrating performance and security testing into DevSeOps workflows to ensure optimal system performance and security compliance.
- Experience in embedding QA practices into Agile development processes, working within DevSecOps teams to ensure continuous testing and quality monitoring throughout the development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and testing within environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience with containerized application testing (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices-based architectures.
- Experience in testing hardware, including mobile devices, laptops, network devices, and end-user computing environments in large-scale enterprises. Proven ability to develop and execute test plans for both hardware performance and compatibility across diverse operating systems, configurations, and network environments

SAP QM Consultant – S/4 HANA (Nuclear/Energy)
Day Rate: £650–£690 (Inside IR35)
Clearance: SC Clearance preferred (must be SC eligible)
Location: UK (on-site requirements dependent on project phase)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP QM Consultant with proven expertise in S/4 HANA deployments to support a large-scale transformation within the nuclear energy sector . This role is critical in ensuring that quality processes are fully embedded, compliant with regulatory frameworks, and seamlessly integrated across the wider SAP landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design & Configuration: Lead the configuration of SAP QM and related components (PP/PI/PPDS/Variant Configuration) to meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Integration: Collaborate closely with other module leads (MM, PM, SD, FI/CO, etc.) to deliver an integrated solution with no downstream disruptions.
- Compliance & Regulatory Alignment: Ensure quality processes align with nuclear industry regulations, ISO standards, and site-specific governance requirements.
- WRICEF Ownership: Drive WRICEF developments, providing functional specifications, supporting build, and validating testing outcomes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the subject matter expert for QM, liaising with business leads, project managers, and external auditors where required.
- Testing & Cutover Support: Prepare and execute unit testing, SIT, and UAT. Support cutover activities to ensure a smooth transition to BAU.
- Knowledge Transfer: Provide training and mentoring to client teams, ensuring long-term sustainability of the solution.
Key Skills & Experience
- Deep expertise in SAP QM (S/4 HANA) with hands-on configuration experience.
- Strong knowledge of integration points between QM and PP/PI/PPDS/VC modules.
- Previous project experience in energy or nuclear industries (highly beneficial).
- Familiarity with regulated environments and associated quality/compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrable experience driving WRICEF items through full lifecycle.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Must be eligible for SC clearance (SC clearance already in place is highly desirable).
