Brocket Hall is looking for passionate individuals to join our Course Maintenance team as one of our Green Keepers at one of the UK's most prestigious golf estates. The maintenance of our two championship golf courses, The Melbourne and The Palmerston, requires hard working and dedicated professionals who can contribute to ensuring that our courses provide an exceptional playing experience year-round. As a Green Keeper, you will play a key role in the upkeep and care of the golf courses, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the golf courses, including mowing, aeration, and irrigation, under the guidance of the Course Manager.
- Assist in the planning and execution of course maintenance programs, seasonal renovations, and improvements.
- Monitor the health of turf and plants, applying fertilizers and pesticides as necessary in compliance with safety guidelines.
- Maintain and repair course equipment and machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
- Work as part of a team to manage the daily operations of the course, including assisting with maintenance of bunkers, greens, and tee boxes.
- Conduct regular inspections of the course to identify areas needing attention and report findings to the Course Manager.
- Promote a clean and safe working environment for staff and players alike.
- Engage with members and guests to enhance the overall golf experience by providing knowledgeable insights regarding course conditions.
Requirements
- No prior experience as a green keeper is necessary as full training will be provided however, a passion for horticulture, landscaping, or golf is a plus.
- Opportunities for full time apprenticeships and continued CPD training will be provided as part of this role with a reputable college and BIGGA approved courses.
- A keen interest in the principles of turf management and environmental sustainability.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in course maintenance and landscaping techniques.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.

Role Purpose
The Golf Operations Assistant will support the Gold Operations Manager in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation for all users of the golf course, ensuring attentive and efficient service while enhancing the overall customer and member experience. Overall Responsibilities
- Daily Golf Operations
Optimise tee-time reservations to maximise revenues, ensure efficient course flow and an optimal customer experience, including implementing Get Golfing’s ‘pairing up’ policy in maximise playing opportunities. Monitor pace of play and assist in enforcing course policies.
- Golf Retail
Contribute to the companies golf retail, ensuring that the shop inventory is well presented. Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of golf buggies, rental clubs, and other essential equipment, ensuring they remain in excellent working condition. At all times ensure buggy rentals have signed liability forms.
- Deliver Exceptional Customer Service
Provide excellent customer service to all members and guests. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution of any issues to maintain high levels of integrity. Take the lead on fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment that enhances the overall clubhouse and golfing experience.
- Administrative Support
Process payments, memberships, and tournament entries using the golf management system. Maintain accurate records of reservations, equipment rentals, and sales.
Assist with reporting and documentation as needed whilst.

Mill Green Golf Club, based in Hatfield, is looking for a Golf Operations Manager to join the team. The Golf Operations Manager will ensure a smooth and efficient operation for all users of the golf course, ensuring attentive and efficient service while enhancing the overall customer and member experience. The Golf Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the Golf Operations Assistants, most of which will be on zero hours/casual contracts, and ensuring optimal use of Get Golfing’s golf management software, ‘Golf Manager’, to ensure a high-quality experience for the club’s members, guests and visitors.

- Golf Days & Societies
Manage the golf day and society experience, ensuring societies receive value for money and their golf rounds are managed in an optimal way to increase the number of repeat bookings. Take the opportunity to rent buggies, trolleys, and clubs, and sell balls and other retail items where possible.
- Member Engagement
Be a first point of contact for the club members. Manage regular communication through various channels including Whatsapp, email newsletters and app notifications. Collaborate with the General Manager in creating, planning and co-ordinating events, dinners, and competitions to continuously develop and improve the member experience. Work closely with the Captains/Competition Committee to help organise and run member competitions across all categories (e.g. men’s, ladies & seniors)
- Financial Management & Revenue Optimisation
Monitor and analyse financial performance, including green fees, item hire, retail sales and importantly labour. Prepare, manage, and adhere to monthly sales and overhead budgets, implementing cost-saving strategies without compromising service quality. Identify opportunities for increasing profitability through operational efficiencies.
