Group Leader – Automated NDT Delivery
Location: Renfrew
Altrad Babcock’s Asset Management function delivers specialised engineering services and equipment to help clients optimise asset performance, reduce costs, and manage risk throughout the integrity lifecycle.
We are seeking a Group Leader to join our Automated NDT team in Renfrew. This senior role involves leading a skilled team in the delivery of advanced inspection solutions, primarily for the nuclear and energy sectors. Key areas of focus include:
- Automated NDT inspections (pre- and in-service)
- Specialised NDT applications
- Remote operations
As Group Leader, you will oversee team management, resource planning, and project delivery both at base and occasionally on-site. Strong experience in automated NDT and familiarity with energy sector technologies are essential. Security clearance eligibility is required due to work on UK nuclear sites.
You will also support team development through coaching, training, and onboarding, contributing to our growth strategy. A degree-level education is advantageous.
Commitment to safety and quality is critical. You must demonstrate proactive compliance with HSE policies and promote a safe working environment for colleagues, clients, and visitors.

What will I be doing?
- Lead a team of engineers to meet agreed project milestones and deliverables, including, technical, financial and scheduling of the team's activities
- Promote professional and personal development of all the team member through the professional development review process
- Ensure a 'fit for purpose' technical solution is developed; ensuring compliance to processes & procedures
- Compile Work Package Specifications as required to support delivery of the team's objectives
- Monitor offload activities adherence to schedule and costs while identify any associated risks

**Job Requirements**
What do I need to succeed in the role?
- Proven experience of working within Aerospace
- People management
- Ability to demonstrate proven results in a range of engineering activities.
- Project management, communication and decision making skills are essential
- General understanding of finance.
- Proven experience of coaching and developing others would be an advantage.
