Our wireless technology client is seeking an experienced Hardware Engineer. The candidate will oversee the design, development, and testing of hardware platforms and bespoke system components. They will have sole responsibility for the design, supported where necessary by specialist third parties, to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that customers can then integrate into their chosen device
Key Responsibilities
- Schematic capture and PCB layout li>Creating and reviewing engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation, writing and reviewing design, test, and manufacturing documentation, and maintaining up-to-date records of development and test processes.
- Product verification and validation.
- Support manufacturing and quality control and review manufacturing quality control reports.
Requirements
Essential technical competencies:
- PSU design of DC-DC and linear regulators
- Interfaces (including low-speed such as RS232 & RS4xx, DDR memory systems for embedded applications)
- Radio technologies e.g. Bluetooth, Zigbee, Wi-Fi frontend design
- PCB Layout li>Previous experience in design for manufacture;
- Proven experience in design verification, use of lab equipment - oscilloscopes, spectrum/network analysers, radio test sets;

DUE TO COMPANY GROWTH PLANS,OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR A GRADUATE ELECTRONIC HARDWARE DESIGN ENGINEER TO WORK IN A BUSY, DYNAMIC ENVIRONMENT IN OUR OFFICES IN ASH VALE, SURREY.
The role will involve working within the engineering side of the business which will include design and development work, product testing and manufacturing support activities.
You will be working closely with a team of senior engineer and engineering technicians. Although the ability to self-manage is important, the senior engineers will support and mentor a successful candidate to allow them to grow and develop into the role.
Beneficial Technical Skills
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, skills to be able to write test plans against formal product requirements to allow product compliance to be demonstrated.
- Mechanical assembly skills to be able to assist in the build and development of prototype products and test samples/bespoke test equipment.
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design principles with the ability to consider EMC during system and sub-assembly design. A basic awareness of RF engineering may be of benefit in this respect although is not expected.
Attributes needed
- Ability to adopt existing design processes/systems and provide input into developing existing processes.
- Ability to work independently, managing own time relative to the project time frames, as part of a dynamic and flexible multi-disciplinary team working of a variety of projects at any one time.
- Be adaptable to work both in a structured, pre-planned, work environment yet be able to effectively switch to reactive tasks, such as production support and failure investigations, when required.
