Bilfinger UK are currently recruiting a Computer Technician on a Fixed Term contract, working offshore on a 2/3 rotation.
Duties:
- Monitor and maintain the integrity and availability of the installation’s OT (Operational Technology) and IT (Information Technology) equipment in accordance with local and statutory standards & requirements
- Including preventative inspection & maintenance activities ▪ Including troubleshooting and repairs / overhauls and re-commissioning
- Perform the role of Systems Administrator for the installation’s in-scope systems
- Fully document all activities of planned and unplanned maintenance within CMMS and equipment records
- Understand and comply with the installation’s Safety Case and statutory requirements
- Review any proposed IT/OT modifications/work-packs prior to implementation and feedback as appropriate
- Install, Issue and update computer software including version control of backups and source code
- Ensure adequate spares are kept for critical systems and equipment
- Follow Management of Change process for all changes to systems and components
- Specify parts and equipment for maintenance activities as required and liaise with vendors on behalf of client
- Provide real-time feedback on progress/activities/technical issues
- Demonstrate a high commitment to the Client Safety Management System and safe systems of work
- Maintain your own personal training and technical competency for role ▪ Develop trainees and apprentices to support their career development
- Attend FAT/SAT when required.
Experience:
- Good all-round Information Technology background including both OT and IT systems and applications
- Proficiency in Multiple Telemetry and process control systems platform
- Proficiency in CMMS systems and their execution
- Good all-round Electrical and Instrumentation background
- Server administration and maintenance
- BS 7671:2018 certification and experience
- Understanding and experience working within hazardous areas Issuing, receiving and working within permits on high integrity installations
- Good understanding of Cybersecurity Principles and best-practice
- Competent in evaluating and resolving diverse systems issues.
Qualifications:
- Mandatory Offshore Certification (BOSIET, MIST, Medical, etc)
- Educated to OND/HND or ONC HNC / City & Guilds (or Higher) in relevant discipline
