Job Description
The Great Britain Medical Football Team is a national representative side made up of qualified doctors who play at the annual World Medical Football Championships.
The majority of our players are either ex-professional, ex-academy, current non-league or former first-team university footballers. We have won four of the last five world championships, including in 2024 and 2025, reaching five consecutive finals.
The World Medical Football Championships is now a large-scale event, held in a different country each year. The competition features nearly a thousand doctors/footballers, competing in a knock-out format eleven-a-side tournament, alongside veterans and women’s competitions.
Following the resignation of our Head Coach to pursue other opportunities after six tournaments in the role, we are looking for the right candidate to help continue our run of success. Applicants are NOT required to be qualified medics.
This is a wonderful opportunity to coach attentive and committed footballers, lead a representative squad at a world championships and travel internationally.
This is a non-salaried role, but expenses such as fuel, equipment, flights abroad, accommodation and associated costs will be paid (sum to be agreed with committee prior to acceptance).

Job Requirements:
- UEFA A or UEFA B Licence
- Experience coaching or managing a side at either professional, senior non-league, representative or at academy level (preferably professional development phase)
- Availability to travel and deliver training one Sunday per month at locations around the UK, plus two weekend-long camps and attend the championships (typically 7-10 days away)
- Strong tactical and technical knowledge and the ability to plan and deliver sessions relevant to an overarching game model and player needs
- Ability to manage a multi-disciplinary team including an assistant coach and physio
- Take responsibility for tactical approach and match day selection, working towards the aim of winning tournaments
- Talent ID skills to select the strongest possible 25 player squad
- Emotional intelligence, empathy and other ‘soft skills’ to bring the best out of individuals and the team
- Able to represent Great Britain, non-league football and the medical profession with respect, dignity and professionalism on the world stage
- Work ethic beyond scheduled hours to identify/recruit players, analyse opponents, plan sessions, assist with tournament preparations, be a part of the organising committee

What We're Looking For:
- Confidence & Energy: You need to be energetic, confident, enthusiastic and love working with kids.

- Coaching Experience: To have a good understanding of coaching and its objectives, not necessarily knowledgable around football coaching as the ages of the kids in our classes just need to have fun and get a introduction into fundamental movements and skills.
- Management: To manage all sessions with regards to content and timings. We do have session plans and training will be provided. With that being said, these sessions are complex but they do need basic structure which is easy to grasp.
- Patience & Flexibility: Be ready to adapt to different needs and keep the kids engaged, no matter their energy level.
- Great with Kids: Experience with young children (either through coaching, teaching, or other roles) is preferred.
- Fun, Outgoing Personality: You'll need to be fun, approachable, and able to keep kids excited and smiling

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic coach to lead our 1st team at King's College Women's Football Club starting ASAP.
The team consists of a squad of around 25 experienced players. Our 1s are driven, technical, and passionate, with players having years of experience playing for senior development teams. Most recently, they won the Macadam Cup and placed second in their BUCS league. They have been finalists of Les Parisiennes (an international tournament) and previous LUSL Cups. This year, they strive to maintain a high team spirit whilst topping all competitions, needing a knowledgeable, motivated coach to help them do so.
Expected duties:
- Lead pre-match preparation and in/post-game feedback for Wednesday games (Home games are usually 2PM kick-off at Berrylands, New Malden KT3 5HA. Away games will be in/around London).
- Lead pre-match preparation and in/post-game feedback for Sunday games around London (Home games are usually 2PM kick-off at Berrylands, New Malden KT3 5HA. Away games will be in/around London).
- Provide personalised feedback to players and team post-match/when appropriate
