Financial management is a critical aspect of the role, requiring ownership of both capital and revenue budgets. You will act as a subject-matter expert, building strategic partnerships and identifying innovative estate solutions that enhance operational efficiency and sustainability.To be successful in this role, you must be a Chartered Surveyor with a RICS qualification and possess extensive strategic leadership experience within the built environment or building industry. Strong financial modelling and budget management skills are essential, along with a proven ability to conduct complex commercial negotiations. Excellent communication, drafting, and interpersonal skills are required, as is experience in compliance, governance, and estate risk management. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and adept at prioritising estate services.
It would be desirable for the successful candidate to have experience in sustainability and green building initiatives, as well as a background in public sector or police estate management.

The Role
As Head of Estates and Facilities, you’ll take strategic and operational responsibility for the management, maintenance, compliance, and development of the organisation’s care home properties. This is a hands-on, visible role requiring a mix of strong leadership, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of safety and compliance in a regulated setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of estates and facilities management across the portfolio
- Ensure all buildings remain compliant with relevant legislation including CQC, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and Environmental standards
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes, refurbishments, and capex projects
