Our client is a leading insurer looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Property Insurance Specialist to join their team in Reading, Berkshire, UK . This role focuses on the underwriting and management of commercial property insurance portfolios, ensuring accurate risk assessment, competitive pricing, and excellent customer service. You will work closely with brokers and clients to understand their unique property insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.

- Underwrite new and renewal commercial property insurance policies, evaluating risks and determining appropriate terms and premiums.
- Analyse property schedules, building surveys, and other risk information to assess exposure.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries, providing expert advice and support.
- Ensure all underwriting activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle complex endorsements and policy adjustments.
- Monitor the performance of a designated property insurance portfolio, identifying trends and potential issues.
- Collaborate with claims teams to provide technical input on property claims.
- Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and product enhancements.
- Keep abreast of market developments, industry trends, and competitor activities in the commercial property insurance sector.
- Participate in broker meetings and client visits as required.
- Proven experience in commercial property insurance underwriting or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of property risks, construction types, and associated hazards.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in using underwriting systems and MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with brokers and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
- Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., CII) are desirable.
- Ability to manage a challenging workload and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with risk management principles related to property insurance.
- Experience in commercial property management or surveying would be an advantage.
