Emergency Department Registrar Vacancy


Location: Coastal Western Australia

Job Type: Full-Time | Fixed-Term | Permanent

Salary: As per WA Health Industrial Agreement – Registrar / PHO Level + regional allowances

Start Date: Late 2025 / Early 2026


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Department Registrar to join a high-performing team at a regional hospital on the coast of Western Australia. This is an ideal opportunity to broaden your emergency medicine skills in a supportive, high-acuity setting with strong supervision and procedural exposure.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely assessment and management of emergency presentations
  • Perform ED procedures including airway management, trauma resuscitation, and POCUS (under supervision)
  • Collaborate with consultants and inpatient teams
  • Supervise junior doctors and students
  • Contribute to clinical teaching and audits
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and discharge planning


Hospital Overview

This modern regional hospital is a key referral center, with a diverse case mix including trauma, mental health, Indigenous health, and rural presentations. Facilities include a helipad for RFDS transfers and strong connections to Perth tertiary hospitals.


Essential Criteria

  • General registration (or eligible) with AHPRA via the Competent Authority Pathway
  • Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience (including ED experience)
  • Strong clinical and decision-making skills in acute settings
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
