Location: Coastal Western Australia
Job Type: Full-Time | Fixed-Term | Permanent
Salary: As per WA Health Industrial Agreement – Registrar / PHO Level + regional allowances
Start Date: Late 2025 / Early 2026
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Emergency Department Registrar to join a high-performing team at a regional hospital on the coast of Western Australia. This is an ideal opportunity to broaden your emergency medicine skills in a supportive, high-acuity setting with strong supervision and procedural exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide timely assessment and management of emergency presentations
- Perform ED procedures including airway management, trauma resuscitation, and POCUS (under supervision)
- Collaborate with consultants and inpatient teams
- Supervise junior doctors and students
- Contribute to clinical teaching and audits
- Maintain high standards of documentation and discharge planning
Hospital Overview
This modern regional hospital is a key referral center, with a diverse case mix including trauma, mental health, Indigenous health, and rural presentations. Facilities include a helipad for RFDS transfers and strong connections to Perth tertiary hospitals.
Essential Criteria
- General registration (or eligible) with AHPRA via the Competent Authority Pathway
- Minimum 3 years post-graduate clinical experience (including ED experience)
- Strong clinical and decision-making skills in acute settings
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in healthcare administration or operations management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proven track record in improving operational efficiency and implementing process improvements in a healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare administrative processes, medical terminology, and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Master's degree in a relevant field or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
