A specialist healthcare communications consultancy is seeking a Senior Scientific Communications Consultant (Associate Director / Director level) with 8+ years of experience in healthcare, medical, or PR communications. This London-based role offers hybrid or remote working options.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing and delivering strategic scientific communications aligned with client business goals
- Creating medical communications strategies, advisory board planning, corporate narratives, thought leadership, and messaging for both internal and external audiences
- Partnering closely with senior client stakeholders, providing expert scientific counsel and strategic guidance
- Leading and motivating project teams to deliver high-quality communications on time and within budget
- Managing budgets, resources, and forecasting to ensure efficient project delivery
- Growing existing accounts organically and supporting new business opportunities
- Engaging confidently with senior pharmaceutical executives and navigating complex client environments
What you’ll bring:
- At least 8 years’ experience in healthcare PR, medical communications, public relations, or scientific communications
- Strong scientific knowledge, preferably in oncology, cell and gene therapy, obesity, or corporate/policy areas
- Proven ability to develop strategic communications that transform complex science into clear, impactful narratives
- Experience managing teams and projects, with excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Ability to work confidently in ambiguous situations and ask insightful, probing questions
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Experience working on global or international accounts is highly desirable
