We are currently recruiting for hybrid remote Functional Assessors who would like a role that involves working from home and in the office with no weekends, bank holidays, or long shifts.

Salary:
Functional Assessor (3 assessments per day) - £9,500 to 6,300 + Excellent Bonus Scheme.

(Please note that each of the above roles are subject to availability and needs in each geographical area which may fluctuate over time. Role Overview:

Conduct Assessments: Evaluate claimants' health and/or work capabilities via phone and face-to-face assessments.
Review Evidence: analyse medical evidence, health questionnaires, and daily living activities.
Compile Reports: Produce detailed reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Example Tasks:

Interview claimants to understand their health conditions and daily challenges.
Review medical records and write comprehensive reports.
Provide recommendations based on thorough assessments.

Training Program:
Successful candidates will complete a 5-week comprehensive training program covering (amongst other things):

Assessment Techniques: Best practices for accurate evaluations.
DWP Guidelines: Requirements and guidelines of the Department for Work and Pensions.
Report Writing: Skills for detailed and objective reporting.

The Opportunity

Due to an increase in headcount, we have the opportunity to recruit for qualified Occupational Health Advisors to join our team in our Hove. Sidcup, Gloucester Business Park and Exeter offices. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you’ll offer a focused driven mindset for all Occupational Health matters liaising with staff as appropriate. Staff will range from new to legacy EDF employees also including line managers and H&S and HR professionals, where you will provide comprehensive advice and guidance on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Heath for our EDF employees.

These roles can all be a hybrid model with a minimum of 3 days a week in the OH Dept.

What you’ll be doing 

As our next Occupational Health Advisor, your roles and responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide Occupational Health advice and guidance to Line Managers on sickness, absence and rehabilitation issues.  Work closely with HR and the line manager to ensure successful rehabilitation case management of individuals including restrictions of duties.
  • Support and promote mental wellbeing.
  • Maintain the location Occupational Health department
  • Contribute and attend OH peer group meetings
  • Assessment through health screening and statutory health surveillance that employees are fit for work.
  • Acts as a collection officer for drug and alcohol testing.
  • Undertake health promotion campaigns.
  • Provide guidance, support and advice on effective implementation of the Occupational Health strategies, policies and procedures in line with company/statutory policies/legislation and business objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive advice and guidance to line managers on statutory legislation affecting Occupational Health.
  • Provide a focus at the location for all Occupational Health matters liaising with all staff as appropriate.
  • Establish close working relationships with relevant stakeholders such as EDF managers, H&S and HR as well as the local NHS community
  • Ensure site Occupational Health Strategy supports the Business Plan process.
  • Implement, maintain and comply with service quality systems, procedures and standards through corporate and clinical governance
  • Undertake and comply with external and internal audits such as SEQOHS
  • The role may also include line management responsibility

Who you are

To excel as an Occupational Health Advisor at EDF, we seek individuals who embody a strong foundation in healthcare. As a minimum requirement, you must hold a Registered Nurse qualification with a Post Grad qualification in Occupational Health nursing, ideally on Part 3 of the register, demonstrating your commitment to continuous professional development. Your expertise in medical confidentiality, ethics, and accountability will be essential in providing comprehensive and responsible care to our EDF employees.

You must have extensive case management experience and knowledge in how to run health promotion campaigns. Knowledge and experience undertaking fitness for work medicals and health surveillance is desirable, this includes audiometry, spirometry, skin surveillance and HAV’s – although training will be given.

Furthermore, your proficiency in First Line management/Team Leader skills, Display Screen Equipment Assessment, Mental Health awareness, Drugs and Alcohol testing, NEBOSH certification or diploma, and managing health and safety courses will greatly contribute to the well-being of employees and foster a safe work environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Care to join a 29-bed residential care home located in Sidmouth, Devon, within a UNESCO World Heritage Site along the Jurassic Coast.

The post holder will support the Registered Manager in ensuring that the quality of care provided is of a high standard, regularly reviewed, and planned in partnership with residents and their advocates. The role includes overseeing the care team, delivering mentorship and supervision, and deputising for the Registered Manager when required.



Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct supervision, check-ins, and mentorship to the care team, producing supervision documentation, identifying training needs and opportunities, and focusing on mandatory training and policy understanding.
  • Complete interviews, inductions, and probations of new members of staff alongside the Registered Manager.
  • Act in an advisory capacity for Team Leaders, including medication management and care planning, and allocate tasks and responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Conduct observations on care capacity and efficiency, advising the Registered Manager for staffing reviews.
  • Attend meetings and provide support and mentorship to staff individually or in groups.
  • Compile rotas where needed and ensure adequate cover.
  • Work in a Team Leader or Care role to support the team if required.
  • Ensure person-centred software assessments and reviews are updated at least every 28 days, including pre-admission assessments, accident and incident processing.
  • Support Team Leaders to complete reviews and updates, including infection registers, wound care, and care plans.
  • Liaise with local surgeries and multidisciplinary teams, logging communication and overseeing appointments.
  • Ensure ATLAS eMAR is updated and audited, delegating where necessary.
  • Maintain the training matrix system for all care employees and volunteers.
  • Log safeguarding alerts and create action plans, raising SUI folders and attending weekly meetings.
  • Attend service improvement meetings, respond to regulatory changes, and strive for continuous improvement.


Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 3 Leader in Adult Care Qualification.
  • Experience at Team Leader level.
  • Ability to lead by example and communicate effectively.
  • Good IT skills and ability to use Microsoft Excel.
  • Courteous, professional, and aligned with the Christian ethos and values of the home.

Desirable:

  • Working towards Level 5 Leader in Adult Care Qualification.
  • Safeguarding Lead Level 2.
  • Previous experience as a Head of Department.
  • Management and Leadership qualification.
  • Experience with booking systems.


Working Hours

35 hours per week - Monday to Friday 9am-5pm (or 5 days over 7 as agreed with the manager).

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Homecare Assistant, your role is vital to improving the quality of life of those you support. You’ll provide personal care, assist with nutritional needs, administer medication, and offer companionship – ensuring clients feel valued and cared for in their own homes. All care is delivered in accordance with each client's individual care plan, tailored to their needs.

What We’re Looking For

  • You must be over 18 years old and have the right to work in the UK.
  • Strong communication skills and a good standard of English are required.
  • You’ll need an enhanced DBS, which you can apply for upon registration.
  • A full UK Drivinng License
