An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway/Civil Engineer to support the delivery of carriageway maintenance and improvement schemes. You will contribute to the planning, procurement, and supervision of highway projects, ensuring compliance with all technical, safety, and environmental standards.
The main duties of the Highway/Civil Engineer are:
·Undertake visual inspections of carriageways to identify areas needing structural patching, resurfacing, or preventative maintenance.
·Measure and record sections of carriageway requiring treatment, including on-site marking of work areas.
·Prepare site-specific Bills of Quantities (BoQs) detailing the required works.
·Liaise with stakeholders including utility companies, Streetworks teams, members of the public, and local councillors to coordinate and communicate works.
·Ensure all necessary environmental and legislative consents (e.g. ecology assessments) are obtained in collaboration with internal specialists.
The Highway/Civil Engineer will have key experience in:
·Highways or civil engineering project delivery, including inspections and site supervision.
·Good knowledge of NEC4 contract management and CDM Regulations.
·Proficiency in preparing Bills of Quantities and interpreting technical drawings/specifications.

We are seeking a Senior Highways Engineer to join our growing Scottish Roads and Highways team. As a Senior Highways Engineer you will be responsible for delivery of a wide range of different projects as part of a close-knit and supportive team. Working in collaboration with multiple different discipline experts across the business, you will help to deliver solutions for our clients.
You will play a key role in delivering a high-quality service to our clients, including Local Authorities and Design and Build Contractors.
