Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced commissioning and installation engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This position involves close collaboration with various engineering, project management, and aircraft development teams within ZeroAvia, and plays a key role in driving the hydrogen and energy infrastructure via various use-cases, namely airports as energy hubs and as primary off-taker.
Responsibilities
- Carry out installation & commissioning of various systems including Hydrogen production, gas distribution systems, Hydrogen compressors, and high-pressure storage.
- Electrical field wiring of control panels, valves, and instrumentation with subsequent testing to ensure operability.
- Perform fault diagnosis with the support from OEMs in the event of equipment breakdowns
- Carry out scheduled maintenance activities on various systems.
- Assist in the creation of Installation & Commissioning plans in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Assist in the creation of standard operating procedures and ownership of amendments needed when equipment is in operation.
- Participation in various safety studies, such as HAZOPs, LOPAs, and Risk Assessments.
- Perform fault finding on electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Management of external sub-contractors during installation and commissioning
- Ensure compliance with site HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Time-served technician with installation and commissioning experience.
- Have excellent fault diagnosis skills.
- Prior experience in high-pressure gas and/or Hydrogen
- Installation of hydrogen production and gas distribution systems
- Prior experience in process safety, ideally with HAZOP, LOPA and general risk assessments

A new and exciting opportunity is available with my client who are now looking for an Electrical Service Technician to join their Service Team. Their ideal candidate will have 17th / 18th edition, with proven qualification or apprenticeship training within an electrical engineering discipline as well as knowledge of PLC’s, motor circuits, sensor and measurement devices and associated equipment.
Electrical Service Technician role:
The successful Electrical Service Technician will report to the Regional Field Manager, be part of a small team responsible for asset inspection, troubleshooting, servicing and commissioning and assisting with installations of my client’s equipment. You’ll be responsible for:
• Optimising the performance of new installation equipment and existing assets as part of continuing new product provision and service and support to end users.
• Make sure that all installations and serviced equipment represent good reference sites.
• Final testing and commissioning of installations in relation to new and existing equipment.
• Service work on equipment and ancillary equipment including works on control systems.
• Site visits to undertake inspections on products for mechanical and electrical asset condition reporting and electrical trouble shooting/ fault finding.
• Provide operator training for the end users of products.
• Provide technical support to customers and other departments.
• Make sure that projects provide effective solutions for customers.
Electrical Service Technician requirement:
Experienced and qualified Electrical Technician / Electrician educated to NVQ Level 3 level or equivalent.
Can work from mechanical and electrical engineering drawings ideally from an electrical engineering service or a plant/production maintenance background.
Knowledge of three-phase low voltage motor control panels and PLCs
Qualified to 18th or 17th Edition.
Willing to assist Mechanical Technicians when required.
Predominately site work in Southern UK and a company van will be provided for travel.
Occasional work in other parts of the UK.
UK driving license.
Excellent customer facing experience.

The Technical Support and Service Technician will report to the Service Manager and will be involved in the setting and testing of capital industrial equipment prior to despatch. The Technical Support and Service Technician will be commissioning in ours and our customer’s factories and training of operator and maintenance personnel in the use of our equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities for the Technical Support and Service Technician
- Assemble product development equipment and machinery to technical drawings provided.
- Modify parts and assemblies using hand & power tools such as drills, belt sanders & band saws.
- Apply experience and creativity to problem solving during build and test phases of development.
- Setting and testing of Company’s Engineering’s full range of industrial and Assembly equipment.

- Understanding of PLC Machine controls.
- Able to write concise informative reports and offer solutions to problems.
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and able to communicate at all levels, both orally and written.
