About the role:
Working as a care assistant in London, you’ll make a genuine difference to the lives of the people you support. As a carer, you’ll be visiting clients in their own homes for a minimum of 1-hour calls.
You’ll be assisting with personal care, medication management, and household tasks. You’ll also support clients in pursuing their interests and hobbies! There are no set hours or shifts, however you are looking for people with availability during the early mornings, evenings and weekends.
If you have at least 6 months experience working as a visiting carer, health care assistant, been a carer in a care home or hospital and are naturally friendly, with a desire to make a positive difference in life, we want to hear from you!

The Additional Learning Support team provides a range of support for students with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, to enable them to access the educational and personal development opportunities offered by our client.
You will be supporting learners in the classroom and assisting teaching staff to meet the diverse needs of learners in a range of practical and theory-based classes. A creative, learner-focused approach is required as you will need to build a good rapport with students who may struggle with self-esteem and confidence, helping them to develop new skills and grasp new ideas.
You will work collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues to help remove barriers to student's learning and must be able to work well within a team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with students as well as their parents/carers. Keeping accurate records is essential as you will be supporting to gather information about student progress for Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) review meetings.
Ideally you will be educated to at least Level 3 and have some experience of working with young people and/or adults with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the effective and efficient organisation and administration of initial and diagnostic assessments and communicate results to students and colleagues.
- Assist teaching staff to devise and implement individual learning plans to ensure that each student has a support programme and appropriate incremental learning targets.
- Work with teaching staff to ensure that additional learning support strategies are integrated into the planning and delivery of learning programmes.

- Supervise students in all contexts on the premises and elsewhere when on site activities.
- When appropriate, provide personal support for students with physical disabilities and learning difficulties to enable them to fully participate in the learning process.

This role provides technical support and guidance to students in their use of resources and equipment during practical sessions in directed and self-directed work helping them get the most out of their learning environment. This includes providing support to the Campus Manager in taking pride in the campus estates/ facilities environment, assisting with Health and Safety in the workplace, and providing the best technical service to students and colleagues.

- Offer front-line exemplary service and technical support and advice to students across the range of academic disciplines and learning environments.
