About the role:

Working as a care assistant in  London, you’ll make a genuine difference to the lives of the people you support. As a carer,  you’ll be visiting clients in their own homes for a minimum of 1-hour calls. 

You’ll be assisting with personal care, medication management, and household tasks. You’ll also support clients in pursuing their interests and hobbies! There are no set hours or shifts, however you are looking for people with availability during the early mornings, evenings and weekends.

The Additional Learning Support team with our client, Luton are looking for Hourly Paid Learning Support Assistants to join their highly successful team. The Additional Learning Support team provides a range of support for students with a wide range of learning difficulties and/or disabilities, to enable them to access the educational and personal development opportunities offered by our client.

You will be supporting learners in the classroom and assisting teaching staff to meet the diverse needs of learners in a range of practical and theory-based classes. A creative, learner-focused approach is required as you will need to build a good rapport with students who may struggle with self-esteem and confidence, helping them to develop new skills and grasp new ideas.

You will work collaboratively with curriculum-based colleagues to help remove barriers to student's learning and must be able to work well within a team. Keeping accurate records is essential as you will be supporting to gather information about student progress for Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) review meetings.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to the effective and efficient organisation and administration of initial and diagnostic assessments and communicate results to students and colleagues.
  • Assist teaching staff to devise and implement individual learning plans to ensure that each student has a support programme and appropriate incremental learning targets.
  • Work with teaching staff to ensure that additional learning support strategies are integrated into the planning and delivery of learning programmes.
  • Provide learning support for students through small group and in-class delivery to facilitate the learning process.
  • Monitor student's progress against agreed targets, using appropriate assessment tools as specified within the site tutorial framework.
  • Maintain records of student attendance and progress and provide relevant information for teaching staff, managers and external agencies as required.
  • Participate in careers events and marketing activities and contribute to the admissions and interviewing process for prospective students.
  • Supervise students in all contexts on the premises and elsewhere when on site activities.
  • When appropriate, provide personal support for students with physical disabilities and learning difficulties to enable them to fully participate in the learning process.

This role provides technical support and guidance to students in their use of resources and equipment during practical sessions in directed and self-directed work helping them get the most out of their learning environment. This includes providing support to the Campus Manager in taking pride in the campus estates/ facilities environment, assisting with Health and Safety in the workplace, and providing the best technical service to students and colleagues.  


Key accountabilities 

    Student technical support and experience 

  • Offer front-line exemplary service and technical support and advice to students across the range of academic disciplines and learning environments. 
  • Ensure classrooms and studios are prepared for lessons and maintained, ensuring a clean and professional environment at all times. 
  • Oversee and facilitate student directed study in timetabled sessions. 
  • Support open events, trips, showcases, both on campus and at external locations, including configuring, transporting, and setting-up equipment.

  • Performing candidate telephone interviews assessing suitability
  • Candidate management to include interview arrangements and regular check-ins.

 And here’s what we’d like you to have:  

  • Proven experience working within an in-house recruitment team or RPO
  • Knowledge of search tools to identify candidates and attract good talent
  • Knowledge of the end-to-end recruitment process / policy including legal requirements and recruitment best practice
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of recruitment systems and processes
  • Effective communication skills / able to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Great team player, personable and approachable

This is a full-time, permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday – 2 days working from home.
