Are you an experienced civil engineer looking to make a real impact on the success of residential developments? We are currently seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Senior Engineer to join our clients Technical Team based in the East Midlands.
This is a key role supporting land acquisition and site development by delivering timely, high-quality engineering input. You'll manage the procurement of surveys and technical reports and work cross-functionally to ensure our sites progress through planning, approvals, and into construction without delay.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assist the Engineering and Design Managers with technical appraisals for new development opportunities
- Lead the instruction and review of due diligence surveys and advise on site constraints and abnormal costs
- Resolve engineering-related issues through planning and condition discharge processes
- Manage the design of infrastructure works including roads, sewers, and utilities
- Monitor and manage consultant performance to ensure deadlines and design quality are met
- Attend technical and site meetings, ensuring engineering elements are delivered to programme
- Drive technical approvals and secure statutory consents (e.g., highways, drainage)
- Liaise with internal teams, consultants, local authorities, and utility providers
- Support the adoption of legacy roads and sewers to reduce NHBC bond liabilities
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental policies across all duties
What We're Looking For:
- Significant experience in a similar engineering role within the housebuilding or engineering consultancy sector
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Knowledge of engineering software such as Windes and PDS is an advantage
- Strong understanding of current building regulations, planning policies, and statutory requirements
- High attention to detail when reviewing technical documents and drawings
- Proven ability to manage consultants and drive performance
- Strong local knowledge and network of contacts in engineering, utilities, and planning
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Commercially aware with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and general IT systems

We are seeking an Associate Project Manager with proven experience gained within a construction consultancy setting, and specifically with a prior focus on projects within the Commercial and Residential sectors to join us at either our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.
Our team has significantly grown in the last few years and is continuing to attract high performing individuals looking to progress their career and work on bespoke and interesting projects.
_As an Associate Project Manager joining our team, here's what you'll do:_
+ Manage one or more moderately complex projects, involving a combination of the following:
+ Administer the SBCC / NEC4 suite of contracts
+ Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR,
+ Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR,
+ May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
+ Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
+ Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
+ Provide line management and mentoring to all staff members reporting to you and ensure that they have current and relevant training
+ Participate in business development opportunities with existing and new clients, including cross-selling opportunities, ensuring that these are identified and acted upon
+ Management of tender documents, appraisals and negotiations

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ You will ideally be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to successfully support and lead construction projects within the Commercial and Residential sectors.
+ Pre and post contract design /project management expertise over the RIBA lifecycle
+ Excellent communication and organisational skills
+ SBCC Contract Administration
+ Maintain accurate project records (both paper and electronic)
+ Robust Stakeholder Management process
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Academic Qualification - ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree
+ Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
+ APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation)
