The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international think-tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change.

We are looking for passionate VOLUNTEERS who build professional relationships with stakeholders and generate opportunities for the organization's development.

In a voluntary unpaid role (as with all roles in BCI), the Recruitment Officer will provide administrative support to the Recruitment Manager and the Assistant Director-General (Operations).

Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate Recruitment administrative support;
  • To liaise with BCI members regarding HR/Recruitment policies;
  • To support the Recruitment Manager with the application of GDPR compliance; and
  • To assist the Recruitment team and BCI Operations with your administrative inputs.

Requirements

Skills and abilities

  • Previous and/or ongoing experience in HR Administration;
  • Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to develop effective working relationships, work flexibly across professional and operational boundaries, and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels;
  • Excellent English writing;
  • Close attention to details; and,
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to balance competing demands under pressure.

General and specialist knowledge

  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office; and,
  • Strong depth of knowledge on topics central to the BCI such as climate change, climate finance, and blockchain technology preferred.

Education and training

  • A relevant degree or training in HR, Business, Climate Change or Environmental Science is preferred but not essential.

Relevant experience

  • Proven ability in organization/business administration;
  • Experience in building constructive relationships with stakeholders; and,
  • Experience in working independently and with teams to drive forward projects using one's own initiative.

The Blockchain & Climate Institute (BCI) is an international volunteers-led think tank supporting and advocating the application of blockchain technology in the global fight against climate change.

We are looking for passionate VOLUNTEERS who build professional relationships with stakeholders and generate opportunities for the organization's development. The Head of Recruitment or Human Capital Manager will coordinate the recruitment cycle and oversee the recruitment team.

The ideal candidate is driven, experienced, and looking to make a difference in international climate change governance. The successful candidate will be a competent manager or director with experience managing teams. Working with initiative and having the desire to find solutions to organizational problems should be second nature. Experience with human resource management is required.

As with all roles in BCI, this is a voluntary, unpaid role.

Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate recruitment at BCI;
  • To improve the recruitment function at BCI;
  • To liaise with BCI head of divisions and members regarding Human Capital/Recruitment policies;
  • To manage the application of GDPR compliance;
  • To oversee (part of) the recruitment team and BCI HR Operations.

You will be responsible for identifying current and future talent needs, designing recruitment strategies, and enhancing the employee onboarding experience. A key aspect of this role involves overseeing performance management processes, succession planning, and leadership development programs to foster a high-performing culture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR, with demonstrable experience in talent management, employee relations, and change management. Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will be partnering with senior leaders across various departments. Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with business leaders to develop and execute talent management strategies.
  • Oversee recruitment processes, from sourcing to offer management.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data analysis.
  • Ability to work strategically and operationally.
  • Experience in a hybrid work environment.
  • Proactive, solutions-focused, and adaptable approach.
  • Full eligibility to work in the UK.
