**About the role**
We are looking for a passionate and proactive Sustainability Manager who is skilled at building both internal cross-discipline, and external cross-sector partnerships that will underpin Pearson's social impact programmes. This is a high-energy, delivery-focused role, where you will be comfortable navigating complexity, coordinating across teams and driving progress independently with support and guidance from Pearson colleagues. The Sustainability Manger will also work cross functionally to implement an employee engagement programme and help shape communications to encourage participation and promote Pearson's work in this area.
**Location:** This position offers a hybrid working model from our Central London office, but remote applicants from across the UK will also be considered.
**Key responsibilities**
+ Support the delivery of social impact action plans for critical projects across the company, including employee activities, training, apprenticeship, sustainability, and supply-chain initiatives to maximise community benefit.
+ Coordinate and facilitate engagement with local communities, external agencies, charities, and social enterprises to identify opportunities for collaboration and implement social impact activities.
+ Take a proactive role in shaping and implementing an employee engagement strategy to contribute to social impact programmes (e.g. skill-based volunteering).

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to build rapport and relationships with diverse community groups.
  • Strong event planning and management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms for outreach.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
  • Passion for social impact and community development.
  • Experience with data collection and reporting is a plus.
