About the Import Coordinator
This role is office based 5 days per week, working 8am – 5pm.
Reporting into the Lead Import Coordinator, you’ll be supporting our branch network & HQ with international shipping (Import & Export) logistics.
There is a lot of paperwork to deal with, mainly from customs. It’s your role to check that paperwork which contains charges for imports.
In this role it’s essential that you are detail orientated, a quick learner and highly organised.
It’s a highly rewarding role that we enhance your knowledge within the import and exports logistics along with building confidence within a business administration position.
Key responsibilities as our Import Coordinator
- Supporting the branch network with transportation of international shipments. li>Sourcing prices for the transport and clearance of goods.
- Communication with internal and external personnel over the telephone and email.
- Processing bookings on external systems such as DHL, FedEx, UPS and others.
- Record keeping to a high standard to ensure compliance.
- Arrange and complete all necessary import/export paperwork, such as clearance instructions, and ensure information is accurately processed by external forwarders.
- Communicate with Internal and external personnel about shipment tracking and provide updates on delivery schedules.
- Using the companies bespoke ERP system to enter information and process the shipping of orders.
- Resolving any issues or delays that may arise during the importation process.
- Ensuring proper classification and valuation of imported goods for customs clearance.
What we're looking for in our Import Coordinator
- li>Strong digital competence
- Attention to detail
- Expertise in Office suite software (primarily Excel and Word)
- High level of reading comprehension for the interpretation of customs regulations
- High level of written competency to liaise with international suppliers & customers
- High levels of organisation and proficiency in record keeping
- Experience using Cloud sharing software and shared worksheets.
- A fundamental understanding of logistics/ customs compliance is beneficial but not essential
