This Inclusion Officer will work with children who cannot access mainstream education through behaviour and various reason. You will be supported heavily by the inclusion team manager/department through 1:1 sessions and within the classroom. The role will have the opportunity to further your career development with CPD opportunities throughout the school and offsite provision. If you have strong interest in sport and behaviour management this is the role for you!

The school which resides in the London borough of Lambeth is a mixed mainstream academy has over 1000 students on site with a further additional 200 students in their sixth form centre. The CPD programme is highly regarded within the school supporting growth and progression throughout.

Staffline Recruitment Ireland is recruiting on behalf of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council for an Accessibility and Inclusion Officer.
This role will lead the design, delivery and continuous development of policies and programmes to ensure the Council meets its statutory duties under equality and disability legislation. You will also promote a culture of accessibility and inclusivity across all services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the Council’s Equality Scheme, Equality Action Plan and Disability Action Plan
- Provide advice, guidance and training to staff and Elected Members on accessibility, inclusion and equality
- Oversee Equality Impact Assessments (EQIAs) and Disability Action Plans across Council departments
- Manage the Council’s Dual Language Signage Policy and support diversity initiatives
- Build partnerships with the Equality Commission, community groups and accessibility organisations
- Conduct accessibility and inclusion audits of facilities, services and communications
- Identify funding opportunities and support award or accreditation submissions, including Dementia Friendly and Autism Impact
Essential Criteria
- A relevant third-level qualification or three years’ broad experience in accessibility and inclusion roles
- At least two years’ relevant work experience, including knowledge of equality and disability legislation
- Proven ability to develop policies, deliver training and work across varied services
- Strong communication, relationship-building and report-writing skills
- Full current driving licence (or access to suitable transport)
Desirable
- Experience in dual language policy delivery
- Understanding of Section 75 policy requirements for local government in Northern Ireland
