URGENT VACANCY: Responsible Individual – Children’s Home | Bexleyheath
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of vulnerable children? A brand-new Children’s Home is set to open in Bexleyheath in the nearest future, and we are urgently seeking a Responsible Individual (RI) to join the leadership team and help drive this exciting service forward.

About the Role:
As the Responsible Individual, you will oversee the operation of the new children's residential service, ensuring it meets the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. You will be the link between the provider and Ofsted, and play a pivotal role in shaping the home's culture, ethos, and outcomes for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the home complies with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations
- Work closely with the Registered Manager to promote safe, high-quality, child-centred care
- Lead on the development of policies, procedures , and service delivery plans
- Oversee staff recruitment, supervision , and professional development
- Monitor and evaluate the home’s performance, ensuring continuous improvement
- Act as the main point of contact for Ofsted , local authorities, and stakeholders
- Champion the rights, safety, and well-being of all young people placed in the home
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Responsible Individual , registered manager, interim manager or senior leadership role within children’s residential care
- In-depth understanding of relevant legislation, safeguarding , and care standards
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to drive quality, compliance, and outstanding outcomes
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 5 in Leadership & Management or equivalent)
