Job Requirements :


· Proven experience in technical writing, such as software documentation, along with excellent written skills in English.

· Should be a good motivator, with lot of energy and enthusiasm with a proven ability to learn quickly, multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team.

· Ability to deliver to target groups of product users high quality, core training material by paying attention to precise detail and individual student needs.

· Should be able to adapt and develop quick understanding to the technological changes and make them easily understandable to an audience via text and pictures.

· Should be able to manage a learning group effectively and increase the productivity.

· Strong working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint. Working knowledge of articulate tools and exposure or hands on with learning management system will be a plus.

· A working application knowledge of Rockwell Automation PLC products, panel designing, CIP (Common Industrial Protocol) is required.

· In-depth knowledge of SCADA, iSCADA, Control Automation, Control Systems, Automation Framework Design, SDL will be preferred.

· Practical Exposure to any live systems will be an added advantage.

· A training qualification, such as Cert IV in Training and Assessment , or demonstrated, training experience will be viewed highly favourably


Professional Experience:

' 7+ Years of work experience in the field of automation, having in-depth knowledge on the methods and practices involved.

· Execution and delivery of formal, classroom training that is both practical and theoretical

Summary of Position

The Field Commissioning Engineer will play a leading role in the ongoing support of automated systems and sub-systems. This role requires hands-on skills to test and modify designs as required along with advanced diagnostic and commissioning abilities. The Field Commissioning Engineer will liaise with internal and external stakeholders across Service and Support, Software and Workshop functions to solve problems to the highest standard.

The position requires the provision of first-class support to clients, delivering modifications and upgrades on-site, and ensuring the ongoing safety and quality of automation systems through proactive servicing and problem solving for bespoke, robot based electromechanical systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify root causes of electrical and software faults and implement solutions accordingly, providing feedback to appropriate departments.
  • Delivery and integration of modifications and upgrades on site to meet the specification and processes of the customer.
  • Provide emergency and ongoing support systems for products installed both at Loop premises and at client sites.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycle and provide updates on progress and demonstrations.
  • Ensure compliance with cross departmental policies, procedures and design requirements.
  • Always provide excellent customer service to Loop clients.
  • Provide proactive and reactive service and support engineering to clients to ensure that automation and robotic systems are functioning to the highest capability. Often at very short notice.
  • Identify electro-mechanical system faults and, where unable to provide solutions directly, liaise closely with internal stakeholders to identify and provide solution.
  • Act as ambassador for the Service and Support department and promote and advocate for the department in a professional manner when carrying out the duties of the position.
  • Other Service and Support administrative tasks as required.

Secondary responsibilities:

(in the event of Service and Support being quiet)

  • Provide support to the Software department with system development and testing.

Person Specification

      • Ability to identify faults and deliver fixes, whether directly or from another department.
      • Ability to identify root causes of electrical faults and software bugs utilising good working practice with industry standard equipment.
      • Customer service focused with the ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels
      • Industrial robot experience (Kuka, Fanuc)
      • Operational experience with PLCs and ability to fault find (Beckhoff, Siemens, IEC(phone number removed): LAD, ST, FB, SFC)
      • Diagnostics of industrial fieldbus networks (EtherCAT, ProfiNET, CANopen, RS232)
      • Experience working with automation/robotic, and/or industrial systems and demonstrable knowledge of how they work, particularly with respect to safety.
      • Holds a full UK driving licence
      • Willing and able to travel to customer sites, often at short notice
      • The ability to obtain vetted security clearance/DBS checks
      • Ability to plan and manage own workload, work on own initiative to complete tasks autonomously.
      • Ability to read and understand technical electrical/mechanical drawings.
      • Ability to communicate at a high technical level, both written and verbal English. Qualified to HNC in an electrical-focused course, or electrical apprentice trained or equivalent level or demonstrable experience.
