Job Description
The Role
I’m working with a leading national law firm with a strong reputation in defendant litigation. As part of their ongoing growth, they’re looking to recruit an experienced Industrial Disease Supervisor to join their busy and well-established team based in Birmingham.
In this role, you’ll manage your own caseload of industrial disease matters, with a particular focus on noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) claims. You’ll take responsibility for the full file lifecycle, from initial instruction through to resolution - handling case strategy, evidence review, settlement negotiations, and any necessary procedural steps. You'll also liaise with clients and third parties to ensure delivery of high-quality outcomes, on time and within service expectations.
Alongside managing your caseload, you will supervise and support a small team of fee earners, providing guidance on file strategy, monitoring performance against KPIs, and contributing to training and development. You’ll play an active role in driving team efficiency and quality, ensuring both individual and team targets are consistently met.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected team working on complex, high-value litigation within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Candidate
- Experienced file handler with a background in industrial disease, ideally with a focus on NIHL claims
- Sound understanding of litigation processes, procedural requirements, and case strategy
- Confident in reviewing medical and engineering evidence and setting case direction
- Skilled negotiator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of managing a full caseload independently while meeting performance targets
- Proficient with case management systems and digital documentation
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Able to work collaboratively and adapt within a team setting
The Benefits
- Competitive salary up to £65,000 Depending on Experience
- Hybrid working policy
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell additional days
- Private medical insurance
- Health Cash Plan
- Death in Service and Critical Illness cover
- Income Protection
- Access to retail, lifestyle, and entertainment discounts
Apply in the strictest of confidence online or via telephone – there is no need for a CV for an initial conversation.
