Key Duties
- Provide electrical support for all key fixed plant and equipment.
- Carry out planned, scheduled, routine, and reactive maintenance, including fault finding, diagnostics, and rectification work.
- React quickly to unplanned downtime to minimise production loss and improve equipment efficiency.
- Deliver sustenance and improvement projects and CER equipment installations.
- Work safely and in full compliance with company rules, procedures, and relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Requirements
- Recognised electrical or multi-skilled indentured apprenticeship, qualified to NVQ Level 3.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience of electrical systems maintenance within an industrial operations environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of PLCs and Variable Speed Drives is advantageous.
- Flexible, self-reliant, and able to work as part of a small team or independently.
- Positive attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and take ownership of tasks.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working in a production environment.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Mechanical cross-skilling and experience.
- Experience with mobile plant or light vehicles.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. What you will be doing
To capture and agree relevant high-level electrical requirementsTo capture applicable design constraints and quality attributesTo translate requirements into an architecture for the Rolls-Royce AMR Electrical Power System, being cognisant of:Defence in depthSingle failure criteriaCommon cause failureBlack out conditionsLoss of power conditionsHazards (internal and external)To make design decisions relating to the electrical subsystemsTo define and oversee development of critical technologiesTo implement appropriate standards, regulations and best practice in the architecture for the Rolls-Royce AMR Electrical Power SystemTo carry out appropriate technical reviews and provide the required electrical engineering inputs to the project technical review gatesTo provide support to the broader EC&I Team and the wider Novel Nuclear and Special Projects area as requiredTo discuss the architecture for the AMR electrical systems with external organisations including the nuclear safety regulator, potential customers and suppliers

Qualified to degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineWorking knowledge of common electrical design codes, standards and processes. Knowledge of BS EN IEC 63046 and IEEE 15288 will be beneficialWorking knowledge of electrical power systems and componentsMembership of a professional engineering institution or working towards membershipExperience of working in the nuclear industry is desirable, experience within a regulated industry would be beneficialExperience in leading the development of design solutions from initial concept through to detailed design definition using a robust design process, including experience of trade-off studies to ensure an optimum design solution is producedExperience in planning and executing technical work packages and reporting progress as requiredExperience applying appropriate analysis methods to underpin concept definitions and support the justification of design solutions

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
