You will be working on repairs and maintenance of fixed plant (including conveyors, pumps, motors, PLC's etc). Experience working in an industrial environment, manufacturing, crushing and screening is an advantage but not essential.

You will be working on repairs and maintenance of fixed and mobile plant (including conveyors, pumps motors, construction plant, etc).

Duties :

  • Ensure breakdowns are repaired efficiently.
  • Deliver preventative maintenance to avoid downtime.
  • Ensure safe motor maintenance and panel maintenance.
  • Assist with the installation of electrical projects.
  • Safely operate a variety of equipment, from motor control and switch gear to conveyors and PLCs.
  • Possess excellent fault-finding skills, be solution-focused, flexible and motivated.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and safe standards of operations.
  • Hold a time-served apprenticeship.
  • Be computer literate.
  • Have experience and relevant qualifications to be able to work in heavy industry.

Qualifications:

  • 2391 inspection and testing.
  • 17th/18th Edition of BS 7671.

Follow all processes and procedures associated with the Tyler Union Safety Management Program.  Advise management of any deviations from this program. br> lan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet governmental regulations. < r>

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Com letion of a vocational certificate program in Electrical Maintenance, completion of apprenticeship program, or one-year experience in industrial electrical maintenance.  br> asic electrical knowledge required.
Must have basic computer skills.  br> ust pass written and hands-on exam to demonstrate competency to advance to next level.
Required to move to next level:

Two (2) years’ experience in mechanical maintenance. * < r> ust demonstrate mastery of basic required principles and successfully pass a hands-on test.
*Should a Level 1 employee demonstrate the ability to perform work satisfactorily to meet the next job classification, with recommendation of Team Lead or Trainer and approval of Manager he/she may advance to a Level 2 with successful completion in less than two years.

N te: Currently employed electricians will be grandfathered at Level 2 but must become fully competent (if not already) at this skill level within six (6) months by demonstrating their ability to perform work satisfactorily.
Completion of an Associate degree program in Industrial Electrical Maintenance, AND two (2) years of related industrial electrical experience required. *
Must have experience reading electrical schematics.
Industrial electrical knowledge verified by verbal testing of AC/DC theory, schematics and electrical blueprint reading, simple circuits, and industrial motor controls to include motor starts, overload protection, and ladder diagrams.
Must have basic computer skills.  br> astery of basic required principles, tool usage, and successfully pass a hands-on test.
Required to move to next level:

Five (5) years’ experience in industrial electrical maintenance. * < r> ust demonstrate mastery of basic required principles and successfully pass a hands-on test.

Self-motivated and able to consistently troubleshoot and make sound decisions.
Troubleshoot complex PLC logic.
Knowledge and ability to work on 24 volts – 4,160 volts. < r> Working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs (5/03, 5/04, 5/05 processors, CompactLogix, and Ladder Logic).
Functional knowledge of Ethernet, and computer technology (Binary logic, ASCII) required.
