The Role
Reporting directly into the Paint Supervisor our Painters have the opportunity to work on a variety of bespoke equipment and are key contributors to the success of our business. Many of our components are subsea and will remain under the sea for decades. With this in mind ensuring the coating is correct is vital to our business. Using a mixture of Conventional and Airless you will ensure our equipment is coated to our client specifications thickness and under the correct enviromentals.
In addition, you can expect a competitive salary and benefits package
Duties will include:
- Able to read engineering drawings and understand customer requirements – paint processes
- Preparation of jobs prior to painting mainly masking. Shot blasting.
- Apply paint to products using brush, roller, conventional, airless and pressure pot spraying techniques.
- Achieve the workload on the weekly work to list.
- Operate manually operated overhead crane as and when required.
- Quality Checking own work prior to final verification by Paint Inspector
- Ensure that all activities comply with all the relevant procedures and standards.
- General housekeeping.
- Other duties as required to meet the requirements of this position. (back up blast operator)
Pay:
Hourly Rate £16.17 - £1.33 Based on 40 hour or 46 hour week. (Excluding overtime rates)
There are 3 salary bands for each rate, Basic Intermediate, Advanced.
- Dayshift Pay - 6.17 – £1 80
- Nightshift Pay - 1.56 - 5.07
- 4 on 4 off/4 on 3 off Dayshift £2 21 - 3.50
- 4 on 4 off/4 on 3 off Nightshift - 6.95 - 1.33
- OT1 – £2 26 - 8.20 (Dayshift and nightshift standard)
- OT2 – £3 32 - 5.25 (1st 6 hours rate on shiftwork)
- OT3 - 0.43 - 7.00 (Double time after 6 hours)
1 month Dayshift training required before shift work commences. 6.17 – £1 80
There is a 3 month and 6 month probation period where trade competency tests will dictate salary banding.
All rates subject to a 4% increase from 01/05/2025

- Time Served Painter – Train The Painter (TTP), ICATS
- Experienced in Paint Preparation – Masking and Shot Blasting.
- Proactive and confident team member.
- Self-starter and requires minimal supervision.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible (Willing to work overtime and nightshift).
- Have a strong attention to detail and able to keep accurate records.
- Have knowledge in the use of PPE including air fed remote breathing equipment
