Your Team
We are an Agile team in the Engineering division distributed across two locations - Edinburgh and Zurich. + Experience of creating documentation, creating test plans and executing tests to validate software functionality
+ Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
+ Experience with Agile software development methodologies

Embedded development experience in Linux, RTOS or bare metal as well as knowledge of signal processing algorithms and experience with medical devices or sensors and algorithm industries is an advantage. - Work on the feasibility stage of electrical designs for new connections or upgrades, ranging from HV connections for new energy centres, to EHV connections for battery storage/renewable projects;
- Develop connection strategies, high-level equipment sizing, single line diagrams, and spatial designs of new substations across voltage levels (MV, HV, EHV);
- Conduct grid code compliance and various power systems studies, both steady state and dynamic analysis, using DigSilent, ETAP, and PSCAD software
- Technical review and preparation of technical documentation and studies
- Depending on needs, you will build a team around you to support detailed analysis of power systems as required;
- Act as the point of contact and coordinator between Ramboll UK and other Ramboll power systems teams across the world;
- Support energy strategy masterplan studies on pathways to decarbonisation by providing expert advice on future loads, feasibility of proposed solutions, and impact assessment on the grid at either the local, regional, or national level;

Act as an Engineering technical lead for a software solution at a sub-system level

Your skills and experiences:

Good experience of using at least one high level programming language

Considerable experience of using a high-level design methodology – knowledge of UML

Strong experience of all aspects of the software lifecycle and good knowledge of software lifecycle models (e.g. Waterfall, Agile)

Have a BEng/BSc in Computer Science or other relevant Engineering or Numerate subject (technology, engineering or science related discipline)

Have good knowledge of appropriate software standards (e.g. ISO/IEC/IEE 12207)

Knowledge of Ada95
-
Have a CEng or equivalent level of capability or working towards CEng status

Have a comprehensive understanding of configuration management and experience of a configuration management tool

An understanding of model-based techniques is advantageous

Your key tasks:
- Develop and implement new features based on internal and external requirements
- Understand the Avaloq Core Banking Platform and the corresponding business areas
- Perform maintenance work such as: root cause analysis, bug fixing, code optimizations
- Provide technical assistance for customers or business analysts
- Robust proven track record of working within a similar role ideally within banking or fintech.
- Well-honed PL/SQL or similar development skills
- Openness to new learnings, must be willing to undergo trainings to become Avaloq Certified Customization Professional (ACCP)
It would be a real bonus if you have:
- Candidate must have Associate/ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
